Chico crankbait...help please!

Featured Replies

Does anybody know anything about these cranks?  I have hear a lot about them but have never seen one for sale and don't know where to find any.  Any help would be appreciated.

I assume you're talking about Jackall Japan's balsa cranks?

I had a Geronimo Chico -- sold it before I really fished with it much (very unlike me.....I must have had a moment of vulnerability while caught in a vortex of space/time or something). It was a pretty bodacious crank....kind of like a big Bagley.  If I remember correctly, the action was moderately wide......wider than vintage Bagley.

The regular Chico I haven't tried - but has a pretty strong following from my understanding in Japan. Might be worth a try - - check eBay for em'......there's a lot of good Japanese stores on there and I've never had a single bad transaction with the dozen or so I've ordered from.

I have been looking on ebay for weeks now and cant find anything under "chico crankbait", "chico lure", "chico bait", etc.  My understanding is that it is a small crankbait but I have never seen one in hand.  Its driving me crazy! :-[

Sometimes it's rough but your mental health will survive.

I think this guy makes them

Like I said earlier - it's a Jackall, so include that in your search or you probably won't find it.  Here ya go - a pic of the Chico.

Keep watching eBay - - that's where I got mine, and that's the only place I've seen them pop up. Unless you have some contacts in Japan, I'm not sure of any other way to get it.

I have a few. They are small cranks I think made or model for Rick Clunn. About the size of a Norman Deep Tiny N. Expensive lures if I remember correct $15 a piece.

Chico?  Don't be discouraged!

If ANYBODY has any IN ANY COLOR I am willing to buy!  Please pm me if you have any.

It was originally called "The Shot" by Lobina Lures and designed by Rick Clunn.  It then was changed to "Chico".  I have one but I will not part with it   ;D  It is an awesome river bait when the baitfish are tiny like they often are.
