I was talking to a friend of mine about a blue gill pattern. He had mentioned something I haven't thought about but a really young blue gill basically a light color and light greens and yellows.

I see more bluegills of that color more than the darker oranges,greens and blues.

The young bluegills i see are typically light brown with brownish-golden stripes (very light contrast). They have yellow breats and watermelon/green pumpkin backs. Their I can always see their tails flickering as they swim, so maybe dip the end of your crank, by the rear treble, in either white or chartruse.

I always paint my bluegills with lots of silver and light green and pale yellow. That's how the small forage sized bluegills really look
