Veritas Winch

Featured Replies

Has anybody used the Veritas Winch series? I'm looking to get the 7'6'' MH for deep cranks. Is a graphite crankbait rod like this worth it for deep diving?

Anybody? What's the best for a deep Cranker? I love the veritas but use a kvd crankbait rod for shallow cranks. I need something for deep cranks.

You are probably gonna get different opinions. Generally a composite rod such as the KVD series is thought of as having a better action. Its composite construction loads up slower than graphite allowing the fish to get the bait a little better.

IMO it doesn't matter as much the material for construction of a rod (fiberglass or graphite) but the action of the rod. Personally i like a medium power moderate action rod and the one i currently use is graphite.

The moderate action is gonna be a little slower than normal graphite rods and having more of the type of action of fiberglass.

Having said all that i have caught fish on regular graphite rods so its mostly in personal preference.

Thank you! I was thinking that. Really a long as I get a good parabolic action out of the rod is what I care about. With the MH I'm thinking that and the stiffer graphite will help with good long casts. I guess I was looking for the encouragement.

I have both the winch series Veritas and love them both. I use the 7'6" MH for throwing deep divers and traps in open water. You will not be dissapointed in that rod.

I also have the Veritas Winch MH 7'6" rod and like it a lot. Its a very sensitive rod that I believe can do anything you want cranking wise with it,
