What size hooks are you using? Have any of you had any luck fishing them with weights?
Also, have you tried the "Petey" rig?

For 5" Zoom Super Flukes I use a 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu black. I do texas rig. I haven't caught 1 fish. (new to softbait, I love topwater)

Might want to try a 5/0 hook with the mag.

It really depends on what you want to fish for.

Top water, weightless with a 4/0, ewg, gama hook

Medium depth, keel weighted 4 or 5/0 ewg, gama hook

Deep, C-rig, 5/0 ewg, gama hook
Fishing is my idea of a good lip piercing!

I have also found that when it comes to friends, a good friend will come and bail you out of jail, but best friends will be right there beside you saying d**n that was fun !!!

These are the 7". I'll try a 6/0 hook. I heard they "slaughter " the bass at Falcon a Lake on these.

I use a 6/0 or 7/0 with the Magnum and sometimes a weighted version of them (swimbait hooks).

  • Favorite Lake or River:The Yampa River, Colorado's best smallmouth fishery. Lots of 2 - 4 pound, obese bronze bombers in this river. Connected Lakes is my favorite lake, just a group of small gravel pits, no bigger than 100 acres. No monsters, but lots of 2 - 5 pound largemouths and the odd 6 - 7.

I use a 7/0 EWG Gammy. Great bait for bigger bass, but don't be surprised if a 1.5 - 2 pounder inhales it.
