Okay, so my charger has a setting called "reconditioning". I've used it a few X's before on other batteries, but didn't notice much difference.

What does this setting really do, and it it worth the time ? Takes about 24 hours....

If my memory serves me this is what it does, but my memory is questionable. It runs current through the battery at a set frequency to basicly clean the lead plates. I think it is an ac current but not sure about that. This is done to add life to a battery as well as make it perform more efficently. The newer smart chargers do this automaticly. I think this is correct but is the condensed version..............................Al

Oh, when I was going to LA to visit my parents, my Mom said, "You don't need soap, bath towels, or "shampoo" I had to laugh about that last one
I mean, unless I miraculously woke up with a full head of hair, right ? LOL

They are sending a high frequency, low voltage signal through the battery that's suppose to desolve sulphate crystal that have built up on the cells due to improper charging. There is some controversy about what frequency needs to be used. Some work, some do nothing. The BatteryMinder works pretty good, I've been using theirs for a number of years. It usually will not work on a heavily sulphated battery and it can take up to two - three months on a moderately sulphated battery.
