My mom volunteers at a "family center" which takes donations of food and clothing and gives it to the needy. The other day the lady in charge was checking the donation box and came across some fishing equipment. This isnt usually the kind of stuff thats donated, and the family center really didn't have a need for the stuff,so the lady in charge asked my mom if she knew anyone that likes fishing. My mom knows I love to fish so she graciously accepted the items on my behalf.

I go over to get the stuff from her house and I'm dumbfounded at what she brought home.

Shakespeare 6'6" MH casting rod

Berkeley Lightning Rod 6'6" MH Casting Rod

Mitchell Fulcrum 6'3" MH 1 piece Spinning Rod

and Lastly....

Falcon Lowrider Carolina Lizard Dragger I 7'0" Heavy Action Casting Rod.

This last one details at TW for $150...

Also in the lot was a Zebco 33 Classic Reel and an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Pro Plus Baitcasting reel.

As far as the Falcon Rod...other than Carolina Rig,what would this rod be ideal for? Swimbaits,Deep Cranking?

Maybe for the karma bus you should donate the stuff to Casting for Kids or something of the like. Just an idea. But you do what you like.

Is there a chapter in Arizona for C.A.S.T. for Kids?

I agree with VolFan. I'm sure whoever doanted the rods wanted them to go to a needy child. I would suggest passing the rods forward to someone in need/less fortunate and has an interest in fishing. I'm sure if you look hard enough you will find a "down on his/her luck" kid, even if it's not through a charitible organization.

I'm just guessing, but a charitable donation of 2 - 2 1/2 bills or so to some worthy organization would cover the Karma aspect, and also account for the Falcon rod and the Mitchell spinning rod, and the older Ambassadeur reel coming into your possession. While that Falcon rod is a good rod, that Mitchell Fulcrum spinning rod was a great higher quality/lower cost spinning rod. I wish I had the one back that got stolen from me 10 years or so ago. That Ambassadeur reel is old enough to be approaching collector status.

Like I said, I'd keep the cool old gear, but I would make a charitable contribution the organization I got them from or some other charitable organization, for Karma's sake.

I'd give em everything but the falcon and Abu haha.
