im on the hunt for a new spinning rod for mainly small mouth fishing in my creek right now i use a bps tourney special rod in a 6ft medium action its a good rod but i want to buy something a little nicer i have a shimano saraha fd reel with 10lb line on it the reel works perfect just want a new rod since i just got a new set up for lake and pond fishing any suggestions would be great trying to spend no more than 120 for a rod

Go on amazon and get a fenwick smallmouth rod shipped for under $100. I love mine, got the 6'3 medium action rod paired with my ci4.

Gall... what rod did you get for your lake fishing and why do you think you need a different rod/reel to fish the same species in streams?

I would take a serious look at the 6'3" M-F Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth rod, it is perfect for what you are going to do.

well mainly because my pond/lake rod is a 6'6 mh action and im throwing lighter baits so i wanted to stick with a slightly shorter rod with medium action and i saw sears was the cheapest my question is how well is sears with customer service just in case because i was thinking about going through them since they are about 20 dollars cheaper than anywhere else and yeah i decided on the 6'3 m/f rod

Sears gave me a full refund, I called em and told em it had been damaged. I got the choice of getting a new one or gettin the money back.

One, and it was the UPS guy's fault.

The Fenwick rod is a great stick for sure but the St. Croix Avid, AVS69MLXF, matched with 2500 Stradic, makes up one of the best smallie combos out there. The rod is listed as drop shot specific, but there is not a single smallmouth technique that it can't handle!

Tight lines!

Scott
