Went fishing several times alone this week, and for some reason.. every time I caught a fish whatever random male angler was near me felt the need to rush to my side to take it off the hook. if I wasn't comfortable taking it off the hook, I wouldn't be there alone catching it.. lol! I appreciate the sentiment, fellas, but i'm capable of doing this on my own!

I think it was insecurity since I was the only one catching fish B)

I ran into one of those guys a little later, and he caught a large mouth.. and i completely reversed the roles and ran up and took it off the hook for him. his mouth dropped! haha!

They really wanted to see what type lure you were using. ;)
I was told that when I set the hook, I'd better have a bass or  it's lips attached.

I have had that happen to me a few times, especially at the paylakes here in Louisville, KY. Guys for some reason, tend to think that most of us are just helpless chics and that they have to "help" us, not realizing that they are just aggravating the crap out us the capable women!!! I thought the part where you reversed the role was too funny

 Checking the lures.... I love that you ran up and removed the gentleman's fish. That's classic.

You know, maybe these gentlemen were testing your chivalry acceptance and looking for a wedding ring in hopes to courting a worthy female angler.

I tend to take more offense when they start shifting over and then pitch/flip their bait right where I just pulled out a lunker. It's happened more than once and like you, when I was producing and the guys aren't.

Angler etiquette is quickly lost in the competition of the sexes.

Great story and well played!

Jenn
