  1. Dan, did you do a day visit or did you camp out? How was the fishing?
  2. Hahahahahahaaaa...great first post. Welcome to the site. Lures that have worked for me at Mercer: 1. Lipless cranks 2. T-rig 10" Power Worms (Black Grape and Motor Oil)l 3. Swimming Senko (pumpkinseed)
  3. The bags can be purchased at Bassproshop, Cabelas, and Dicks has them as well. I would say any store that has a huge fishing department has them. Good luck and sounds like it should be fun. Great memories for both, that's for sure.
  4. I figured it was you. I tabbed over to KBF and noticed it was your first bass in yak report. Hahahahaaa....good stuff. ;D
  5. Nice fish and story. Thanks for sharing your photos.
  6. Nice looking fish. That looks like a decent spot for some frog action.
  7. Hahahahaaa...I recall going out there one morning around 0600 and lets just say I interrupted some action at the dam. Not that they seemed to mind I was there. Anyway, I have to get my yak out to Mercer sometime soon.
  8. Wow! Those are beautiful fish.
  9. Nice fish. If I'm not mistaken, Rondef pulled a 4-5lber out of there last year. I'm sure there are some biguns in there.
  10. Well played my friend...well played.
  11. Nicely done. Those are some nice looking fish you are holding.
  12. Same here. I'll check out Dick's Sporting Goods tomorrow.
  13. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/fishing_deep_water.html I drop-shot, use jigs, and cranks that reach the depth targeted.
  14. In my last two outings, I noticed they were sitting in drop offs at 10-12ft and deeper water 18-22 ft holding to grass humps in 10-16ft.
  15. Great read and nice fish.
  16. Had my first blow up this morning at a local pond before the storms arrived. I didn't get a good hook set but it was fun and awesome in the brief fight.
  17. Ignorance of the law is not a valid defense. It is your responsibility to know the law and follow it. I suggest you do some reading here: http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/boating/wog/ I've think you've had enough for the evening. Where were we? Oh yeah, bubble gum?
  18. Nice fish Shimmy and dig the ball cap.
  19. Nice crappie do do or A.do.
  20. Common Carp (Brown).
  21. It was still going on yesterday at Beaverdam although, it seemed to have died down late afternoon. The fishing was tough as I only landed a small LMB that was just inches bigger than the crank I was throwing. The fish were in 18-22 ft deep water hugging grassy humps in 10-16. The wind was brutal as it was frustrating to position yourself when you did find them.
  22. KBF folks are raiding the James this weekend.
  23. These boulders? I was out for a couple of hours on Saturday where I caught a couple of dinks. By the way, it was maiden voyage 2.0.
  24. Nice looking fish!
