  1. Hey Eddie, I live in the same area. I'm right off Stringfellow in the Greenbriar neighberhood. I see you also hit the corporate ponds. Shoot me a PM, maybe we can hit some of them up this week.
  2. Great post Jay! I'm glad you guys had a productive day and produced more memories for you and your dad to share.
  3. Great to hear you all a great time.
  4. I went out on the Potomac near Fort Belvoir yesterday with a friend of mine for about 5 hours and had about 7 keepers, 4 cats and 1 yellow perch. The biggest was caught on a Green Spro Frog which ran 3lbs, the others were between 1-2lbs which were caught on spinners and oil color curly tails T-rigged. It was a great time until it started getting too hot.
  5. Indeed skip! I went out on the Potomac near Fort Belvoir yesterday with a friend of mine for about 5 hours where we had 9 keepers, 4 cats and 1 yellow perch.
  6. Excellent! It's good to hear you got a decent day of fishing in today.
  7. Jay, Just enjoy yourself buddy! Those bigger fish will come, just keep throwing the bigger baits.
  8. Matt, I hope you get better soon. Also, most people get mono from sharing drinks so that's probably how you got since it wasn't from kissing your girl.
  9. The one I take fishing with me is a Kodak DX4330 which is an easy click and shoot camera. It was my first digital camera that I now use for fishing and let my daughter use when we go out on family outings. My other camera which is a Kodak P712 which has more bells and whistles. This camera allows you to have more control. For those looking to buy a camera, take into consideration your budget, the use of the camera and your experience with a camera. Do some research on cameras, then go out and handle them at the store. My recommendation for the point and shoot camera which is great to take along with you fishing are the canon powershot family line. I would check one out at local store to see which one fits you. They are compact which makes them easy to carry.
  10. Slomoe, check your pm. I sent you a link to a blog that I subscribe to from the area and he hauls his canoe on a corolla. I thought it might give you some ideas.
  11. She's a beauty! Congrats on your win.
  12. I wanted to share with all fellow anglers a website that I ran into while looking for some information on my next assignment. Heck you might even be able to share some of the information found on the site with a service member on his/her way down range. Just as with many of us, they have unique and funny stories to tell about their catch. http://www.baghdadflyfishing.com/index.html If this goes in another location, I apologize.
  13. Excellent! Mine lost her fish reeling it in. However, seeing her excited over just the initial hit was incredible. This was on Father's day at Burke Lake using a grub curly tail.
  14. Congrats on the purchase! It looks nice and I'm sure it will get you where you need to go.
  15. Nice.. Yup, him and his son have been killing them with the chatterfrog. Ron was kind enough to give me one on our last outing but didn't get the chance to try it out. Thanks Ron!
  16. Nice fish and love the write up.
  17. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/flipping_pitching_fishing.html I hope this helps ado. Thanks but I know how to flip/pitch. Trevor was nice enough to teach me. My question was is skipping considered a quiet entry technique. Not sure how much noise it makes as it skips across the top of the water. It all depends if you make a huge splash doing so. The key is to limit the amount of splash noise and shadow during your cast.
  18. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/flipping_pitching_fishing.html I hope this helps ado.
  19. I haven't been out this season to Fountainhead but believe me I remember you stating to fish deep out there numerous times. Thanks for providing info.
  20. Excellent! Thanks for sharing.
  21. Mercer it is. Give me a call whenever you get off work.
  22. I'm in for the Thursday outing. Let me know where and I shall meet you.
  23. Good luck guys and I want pictures!
