  1. Has anyone tried the vicious fluorocarbon or copolymer line? If so what were each of them like? You know the usual - abrasion resistance, memory, castablity, stiff, limp, etc.
  2. G-loomis warranty is no doubt the best in the business. I broke a GL3 that I have had for a long time. I paid $50.00 for the xpeditor service and they sent me a new rod in a few days. I put my old rod in the pre-paid shipping tube and sent it back. G-looomis rods are second to none in quality and the normal warranty is good on them, but the xpeditor service is awesome. For the life of the rod if it breaks for any reason you call them and they send you a brand new rod and you send them the broken one back. That alone makes G-loomis rods worth the money.
  3. Thanks for all of the replies guys. I appreciate it. I am going to try all suggestions because this is my tournament offseason and I plan on putting a different brand of line on all of my set ups and fish the same lures (jigs and worms) and see which one fits my style and preference. Again thanks and we are lucky to have a great forum like this where obsessive compulsive bass fisherman can waste time during the day!
  4. Also I use both the fluke and the super fluke depending on how high I want the spoon to ride.
  5. Avid I thread the hook on to where the hook starts to bend. If I where holding the silver minnow in my hand I want the fluke to be riding with the tail slightly up and the nose down. I retreive it with a jerk and pause if vegetation is scattered or a little deeper than a foot under the surface. Or I just reel it in like a spinnerbait.
  6. I use a silver minnow anytime there is vegetation that comes within 1 foot of the surface like coontail or millfoil. I put a white fluke on the silver minnow and a green pumpkin fluke on the gold minnow. I have caught alot of bass doing this after I got stomped at a tournament and found out what the winners where doing. They told me about the fluke and minnow and I have fished it every time I encounter this kind of cover.
  7. Dodgeguy are you getting more strikes on the Seaguar? Do you like it better than the Cajun Red Cast? If so why? Roadwarrior is Yo Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft very abrasion resistant. I don't mean Trilene XT type of abrasion resistant, but is it as abrasion resistant as Seaguar Invizx or Cajun Red Cast? Also, is it limp and easy to cast? Thanks for the replies.
  8. I have been reading this forum for a year now and finally figured out how to post so here goes. I have experimented with every line imaginable. I fish small tournaments and have 9 baitcasting rods and reels (shimano citicas paired with g-loomis). I have used cajun redcast, trilene xl, trilene maxx, berkley trilene vanish flurocarbon, and seaguar invizx. ( I leave two rods/reels rigged up with 65Ib power pro braid) I tried the cajun redcast after reading Dodgeguy's posts about it. I really like it. It is the perfect monofiliment. I would use it exclusively, but I don't like the red color in the line. Does cajun make a line just like that except in a clear or green version? I also like trilene xl, but it is not very abrasion resistant. I hated the max it was unmanagable. I'm not real high on the vanish flurocarbon either. I just recently tried seaguar invizx. I like it but it is to expensive in my opinion. I liked the cajun redcast just as much, but I worry that fish can see that red line. I know that it is supposed to disappear at 3 feet depth but what if I fish shallow and deep in the same day? I have three other questions. 1. Do you guys think that in clear water (visibility of 2 feet or more) bass can see that red line? 2. Is there another monofiliment that cast really well, is limp, and strong like cajon red cast? 3. Any other suggestions are welcome. I just want to simplify my line choices and go with one brand and just put different pound tests on each one. Thanks in advance for replies.
