24v TM wiring
So you are using a 60 amp for a 80# trolling motor. Would a 50 amp be ok then for a 70# motor? Cabelas has a small mamual reset curcuit breaker in 50 amp for $7.99--seems kinda cheap to me or is there a better place to buy a better quality one? Thanks! Doug

Thanks. What size wire do I need? Have 6ga. now Going to be a 70ish lb motor, with about a 16'-18' run. How about the size breaker? Thanks again W2S Doug

24v TM wiring
I would like to buy a 24v TM. Would there be any problem with having one of the batteries in the back and one in the front? Reason being I only have room for two in the back (cranking/one deep cycle) and one up front. Could maybe squeeze two up front but would rather not have the exta weight there. Only have a 50 horse jet. Is there any issues doing this? Thanks!! Doug

decking my boat
I would really prefer aluminum, mostly because of the weight. Any ideas for the hatches? I guess my question is how do I deal with the piano hinge? Do I just surface mount them on top of the carpet? With thick carpet that would seem hard to me and not look very professional. Thanks

decking my boat
I want to redo the front deck on my boat. Currently it is about 12" below the top of the boat. Want to bring it up so it is about 2" from the top. It will give me more storage area below. Stability is not an issue. My question, what kind of material would you use? Alumium would be the lightest, but most expensive. Wood would be heavier, but cheaper. How thick of plywood should I use? Should I coat it with something? The doors I think would be easier to deal with if wood, but could figure something out with the alumium. Thanks for any ideas, going to be my winter project. Doug

tunnel hull or modified v? Anyone own a riverpro?
I have a jet on a mod V and love it! No tunnel. My motor only sticks down about 1 1/2" below the bottom of my boat and it's at an angle. The "foot" closest to the boat is almost flush with the bottom. I fish rivers 95% of the time. I think I can go in shallower water than anyone with a prop even with a tunnel. I'm not into really going into that shallow of water, but I have, and I have hit many times and have not really done anything to my motor or boat other than some dents. You get into that shallow of water and hit with a prop your bending it and your stuck. I'll agree with about everything else--the turning isn't that great, but you just adjust for it. You don't really have a nuetral, you are always moving forward. They do use more gas, but with river fishing, I drift alot or do short runs from here to there. I do suck up some leaves this time of year, but not that much, it usually happens when I'm going slow and it's not that big of a deal to get them off the foot. Just my 2 cents...

pro and con of jet motor
I have a 90/65 jet. All my fishing is river fishing except for 1 week in Canada on a lake. All the above is true, but that is all I know, so it is no big deal to me. I love mine, but if all I fished was a lake w/no wake, I probably would just buy a small prop motor.

TM battery maintenance question
Way2slow, I've always valued your opinion on batteries and followed them to a T. One question, what can happen to a boat motor/car when a starting battery goes bad? Thanks Doug

SEA FOAM OR STABIL?
I use seafoam also. One question, I never really measure when I put it in. Can you use to much of it in a tank of gas? I have a 9 gallon tank, say I put in the required ammount and then only use 5 gallons, fill the tank back to 9 gallons and treat the whole 9 gallons again. Does it mattter? Thanks Doug
