Cold water night fishing
I also love night fishing, but if I were you I would find something better to do with your time than try to catch fish at night when the water is aroun 50 degrees. Around 60 degrees might be ok, but I've tried several times when the water is in the low-mid 50's and it's almost impossible, IMO. Of course if you're just looking to get out of the house and get some fresh air, by all means. However, I wouldn't go in with any expectations

Don't Laugh At Me, But How Do You Do This?
Actually, no I don't think you're lazy. I figured you (and others) forgot about that section. So a little reminder is all I meant. If I am correct you just quote someone that has already quoted someone else. I think he means this type of double quote. The workaround I use is just to hit the "Quote" button, then copy everything (CTRL+C) in that typing space, paste it (CTRL+V) in a Word window, then click "Back" to go to the previous page, do the same thing again. Then you can copy from Word to the new posting section and get double quotes. I'm sure there's an easier way, but this is what I do sometimes.

4-18-08 with fishizzle
Hey Guys, Fishizzle and I went out on opening day to our favorite lake for some smallmouth fishing from 7:30 am to about 2 pm. Overall, we caught 12-14 bass (about five were mine), half largemouth, half smallmouth, I caught two trout by accident, and he caught a big crappie. The two big fish of the day were fishizzle's 3.9 and 3.4 lb largemouths. No smallies over two pounds, and the rainbow was a beautiful, healthy fish. We caught most fish on size 10 X-Raps. I was using white with a pink back, he was using white with an olive back. I caught the two trout on a Redeye Shad. Water temp was 52-53, and the wind really picked up in the afternoon. Most fish were caught in less than 8 FOW. Overall, a pretty good day, but not as great as I was hoping. It seemed like we never really found a group of fish, but just picked them off at intervals. The afternoon was especially slow. Enjoy the pics :-)

Snakes on a plane
Haha, that's hilarious ;D Reminds me of watching Dumb & Dumber during the Shih tzu / bulldog breeding joke - "You know what we called it? A bull****!" In the censored version he goes, "You know what we called it?" Then they cut right to the laughing part. I thought that was hilarious, but I notice now that I'm typing this out, it doesn't seem hilarious at all in print

what would you do? - strange neighbor
I agree with some - put it in the garage, worry about it when you get home and be polite if you ever confront him about it. Odds are he knows your gf is living in the house alone for a time. It's not worth potentially turning it into a situation while you're overseas.

Have you ever...
One time when my brother was about 8 (I was about 12), he pooped at a friend's house and was so psyched about it that he called us all into the bathroom to check it out. It looped around the entire toilet bowl - pretty impressive. However, our ony question was, "Dude, why is there no toilet paper in there."

Don't you love these guys ??? :-)
Yeah, well try showing up to the ramp with a car top canoe and a 30 lb thrust trolling motor ;D

Cold Nights in NH (Low 30's)
He truly is a great fisherman, but don't be fooled into thinking he would catch fish like that in your pond. He does his shows on private trophy-stocked ponds

Northeast Swimbaits....
I'm just getting into it this year. I got an Okuma swimbait rod, 7'6", rated 1-5 ounces, and a Shimano Calcutta 200B. It's a great setup and I've had no problems casting my 9" wakebaits (Mattlures Woody), except that the brake on the Calcutta isn't designed to be able to handle such big baits, so I have to thumb the reel pretty carefully during the cast. I think some other considerations for baits in the northeast are: MS Slammers, 7" or 9" Huddleston Deluxe soft swimbaits, 6" or 8" Mattlures soft or hard bluegill Mattlures baby bass or perch soft swimbaits As I said, I just started getting into it, and everything I know about swimbaiting has been learned from other guys on this site. I can't wait until I get that first fish on the 9" wakebait. It's gonna be a good one. As for your idea of throwing one for a few casts at each spot, you may be better off just taking your swimbait setup out for a few outings so you're not tempted to throw anything else. Once it warms up enough for me to feel more confident that the fish will come up for the wakebaits, that's what I plan on doing until I really get the hang of it. Good luck, and make sure you post the pics :-)

The day of the spinners
Vibrax spinners are my favorite brand, and a lot of the time the bass hit them when they'll hit nothing else. I think they're under-utilized by bass fisherman. They're also a great bait for beginners because you just cast and reel in. My girlfriend caught her first fish ever the other day on a Vibrax. Sorry you lost the big girl, but it still sounds like it was a great day.

Lox wild life and Honeyhole.
That's a nice fish there, and a good outing. Sometimes it's fun to hammer small fish all day

Problem with Digi Cam - SD memory card
Thanks, looks cool, but it seems I'd just be adding a step to the process. I can just hook up my camera to my comp and transfer the pictures. I just need to remember not to delete the pictures from my finder window, but from my camera instead.

Sufix performance braid or power pro

Are carrot stix sensitive?
They are reasonably sensitive, but not as sensitive as they should be for $150. The Shimano Crucials are usually about $140 and they are noticeably more sensitive than Carrot Stix.
