  1. Are you talking about the Ukiah in Northern California? If you ae e-mail me at detroit_3_pistons04@yahoo.com
  2. For me it's an 1/8 ounce dart head with a regular sized Ika.
  3. Oops my mistake, I fish in a club that uses Float Tubes/Pontoon Boats only. We modify the pontoon boats with livewells, rod holders, and fish finders. I started out wiht a Float Tube and finally moved up to a Pontoon Boat. I like the Pontton Boat becuase it's stable and is low to the water. They are alot of fun to fihs out of. Another thing I like is the amount of water you can cover with the oars. www.SCBBBC.com (go to gallery and then click on pics of the pontoon boats) www.bass-n-tubes.com (go to photos and check out the pontoon boat section)
  4. I fihs in a club that usues Float Tubes/ Kick Boats. We modufy the kickboats for bass fishing with rod holders, live wells, and fish finders. I use to use a float tube and finally moved up to a pontoon boat and love it. They are alot of fun to fish out of and are stable and you can go fairly far with the oar. It's easy to stay in one place and fish because all you have to do is kick your fins and you'll stay inj place. The model I have is made by Creek Company and is called the ODC816. It cost $300 from Cabelas and is a great pontton boat.
  5. Yes, I saw more detail in the water and things I never knew were there unless I was wearing the glasses. They help out alot and at the end of the day your eyes feel alot better then they would if you did'nt wear them.
  6. Out here in the West some guys use big Blue Gill swimbaits on beds to catch the bigger females.
  7. I've got the same pair you mentioned. They are alright sun glasses and really help against the sun and glare. The next pair of glasses I wanna get are a mid range priced pair of Solar Bats.
  8. Spinnerbait- Chart Jig- Brown Plastics- Pumpkin, Watermelonseed, Peanut Butter and Jelly Crankbaits- Shad, Crawdad, Brown
  9. Popper: Storm Chug Bug Frog: Snag Proof "Perfect Frog" Spinnerbait: 1/2 ounce Revenge Double Willow Leaf Plastic Bait: Yamamoto Cut Tail
  10. I live in Lakeport California, It's located in Northern California by Clear Lake.
  11. I like Skeet Reese because of his style and he's out there representing for the West Coast. I also like Greg Hackney because of his consistency and becuase he's one of the younger and newer guys.
  12. JT, I also enjoy reading the articles you write. They are very descriptive and I love reading about bass fishing period.
  13. I live in Northern California and my favorite lake to fish is Clear Lake. I am less than five minues from the lake, it's called and known as "The Bass Capital Of The West". This lake fishes really good considering all the pressure it gets from all the other fisherman.
  14. Lucky Craft Moonsault CB 200 in American Shad. This baits runs about six feet and has a tight wiggle to it. They also make on called a Moonsault CB 350 which dices around eleven to twelve feet. Lucky Craft crankbaits are my number one choice, after that I lke to use Normans.
  15. Lakeport, Califonia, less than 5 minutes away from Clear Lake
  16. My number one topwater bait is a Storm Chug Bug in the Bass pattern, The 3/8 ounce size. I like this bait be cause it casts well and you can walk the dof with it as well as pop it. Im aware of the fact that there are other baits out there that can do the same but I prefer the Chug Bug. The biggest fish I've caught on it is a 6.5 pound Large Mouth on it.
  17. I have a boat similair to that called a Bass Baby. It's eight feet long and has two chairs also. THe trolling motor I had on it was a 34lb thrust old Motor Guide. If you want to spend the money a fish finder would be possible if you really want one. These boats are ALOT of fun to fish out of and you can also take them in lake like I do mine. For your grandpas lake this would be a very good choice.
  18. The only one that I'm aware of is Uncle Josh, I'm sure there are other companies though. Bass PRo Shops carry them if you wanna take a look. www.basspro.com
  19. They are jig trailers made from actual pork. The pork has a better action than plastic in cold water. A Jig & Pig is said to be one of the best baits for big bass. Hope this helps
  20. I saw a crankbait that Lucky Craft and Bass Pro shops teamed up to make it. It's a shallow diver that weighs 1/2 ounce with some good looking colors.
  21. Wow, thanks alot for taking the time to write up your response. I'll post after a to tell you guys how I do. Thanks
  22. Is it possible to catch fish flipping in the winter? The lake I'm fishing has been low since summer and it's rained ALOT this last week so the fish should move up shallow. What are some good baits to flip with when the waters cold?
  23. All the weights and jig heads I have are either tungsten, black, ir not painted. IMO it dosen't matter that much. I could be wrong...........
  24. The spinnerbaits I fish fluently are Revenge and Terminator. I fish the same brand if I'm using a buzzbait as well. I ALWAYS add a trailer hook, if you have'nt tied it you should give it a try it really helps.
