Hmm, so you didn't read my post either? I already stated that the original award was for more than $2 million (I think I put $2.4 so I was off a bit). However, McDonald's NEVER paid that amount. On appeal, the award was reduced to something like $640K and then they settled for what was reported to be an amount LESS than that. So, the final payment was for LESS than a million dollars. As I said, you should probably look up the details of the case before you come to any conclusions.

I agree with RW. You should be looking for a crankbait rod. M or MH power and moderate action. I fish with 4 setups. 1 MH/fast baitcast for worms, jigs, etc. 1 M/mod baitcast for treble hook lures. 1 M/fast spinning for weightless soft plastics. 1 ML/mod for light treble hook lures (J-7 rapala's and stuff like that). They are all 6'6" rods. This basically covers pretty much everything except for HEAVY cover and swimbait fishing. I could definately specialize even further, but I fish from the bank and 4 setups is already about more than enough.

If you are purchasing it from an ebay store and that store is an authorized Shimano dealer then the rebate DOES apply. If you buy it from John Doe on ebay then the rebate does NOT apply. The key words in the rebate form is AUTHORIZED SHIMANO RETAILER.

Did you know that McDonald's had already paid off more than 700 other people who were burned by their coffee? That McDonald's served their coffee significantly hotter than all other restaraunts? That McDonald's did this because it was cheaper to pay for people's injuries than to pay for more free refills? That the woman suffered third degree burns over 6% of her body and lesser burns over 10 more %? How would feel if you had all of the skin burned off your crotch? That she had to have skin transplants and debridement treatments? That she was in the hospital for 2 weeks? That she only wanted $20K to pay for her medical bills? That McDonald's offered her $800? That a mediator said that McDonald's should pay her $225K? That the $2.4 mil award amount was reduced to about $640K? That she further settled for LESS than that amount? All of the above was part of the court proceedings and used as evidence in the trial. There is much more where that came from if you're interested.

And fish hold on to powerbait like 1000 times longer than unscented plastic and the banjo minnow catches so many fish that it is going to be banned from tourneys and etc. etc. etc. It's marketing. Marketers make TONS of claims and most of them have little basis in reality. Red line becomes the same as clear line at a much shallower depth. That is why it is better to use when one wants to fish by watching the line. Red hooks may or may not make a difference for lures that run shallower than 10 feet or whatever the depth is that red fades away. Color is something that will be an endless debate. Very successful anglers on this board say that color is the least important variable.

There are "fatties" in many sports. My point wasn't to say that Tiger was an amazing athlete, just that the statement that we can also play golf doesn't really mean much. I can play basketball, baseball, and football too, but I'm not all that good at them either.

This is the point of the red line. Line watchers can use it to fish deep and it is the same as clear line to the fish. However, to the angler watching the line the red will stand out and be able to be seen better. I don't use it. I'm still young and have good eyes and can typically see clear line pretty well.

I'm in Plainfield IL and went out last weekend to some neighborhood ponds that were mostly clear and caught one in 2 hours of fishin'. It seems that any water that is shaded is still frozen.

If the bass are overpopulated and can not find enough food then they will become stunted. Illinois' DNR has a pond management document that touches on this. Is this 100 to 200 fish per person three times a week? I'd like to find that lake!!! Anyways, as far as I know the state DNR will still have jurisdiction. Isn't it the same as hunting on private land, you still have to abide by the limits set by the DNR?

Rattletrap and jig. Haven't ever caught a bass on either. Those are the two baits that I will be working on the most this year though.

I think the customer service rep is putting you on. From a programming standpoint the check to your max bid would literally take less than fractions of a second and THAT is assuming that the eBay software even accepts the bid prior to checking other max bids. I wonder what would happen if you called back and talked to a different customer service rep. I'd bet you'd get a different answer.

I was most certainly not trying to bash your opinion. I was trying to figure out why you had it. And I only just got back into it last year. Heck I hadn't even HEARD of a senko until I logged into this site. I too have much more faith in the palomar which is why I use snaps. I tie a palomar to the snap and then snap on the crank. In this way I get the action of a Rapala knot without having to use a knot with a lower breaking point. There has been some other posts where this topic has been discussed. I even started one a few months ago. Some of the custom crank makers specifically said that something is needed between the knot and the lure (split ring, snap, loop knot, etc). I'm terrible at searching this site so maybe someone else can find it. Well Rapala's site recommends the rapala knot (shocking huh?). I emailed bandit. One other thing to think about is why would the crankbait manufacturers go through the added expense of putting a snap on each crank when one of the main purposes of a snap is the ability to change between crankbaits easily. The consumer would have to take the snaps off each of the lures that they buy so it seems to be a waste for them to include one on each lure.
