  1. It is a clean park that becomes somewhat crowded on the weekends. If you can plan a midweek trip, I am sure you will be happy. They have hookups if you are in a camper, and canoe rentals. In that section of river, it is not unusual to boat 30 or more smallies in a couple hours.
  2. I have seen people fish there. Mostly families with small children chunking a night crawler. You can walk around that pond in about 15 minutes and might be a nice stopover. There are picnic tables there also. if it were me and the owner let me fish there, I think I would at least stop in a buy a soda and sandwich from him just to show thanks. As far as the Shenandoah...I would recommend continueing over the bridge and make a left at the fruit stand and go Watermelon park. About 1/4 mile up from Watermelon park is Lockes Landing and thats where I like to wade. Be careful...there are som holes that will get the top of your head wet if you step in them. Also not a bad idea to have some type of flotation device with you. Maybe attach it with a lanyard and let it float behind you, yet within easy reach if you need it. Last weekend a fellow drowned just above the riffles at Watermelon park....as I said, there are some deep holes, and I suspect he was trapped in some laydown trees. If you want some really good fishing...try SKEETER LAKE. Its across the road from High Hill and about 1/4 mile east. Access is tricky, because the land around it is private, but I know what a game Warden told me. Interesed??? PM me.
  3. If I know ahead of time that my life will end soon, I will do as an earlier poster suggested. I will sell, or give it away. If I die suddenly, I wont have any control over what happens to it unless I state so in my will. (I have not done that yet) Personally, I would like to see all of my stuff go to some type of youth program.
  4. There is a recent post on BFHP by an angler that caught 30+ bass the weekend of the 3rd/4th. Spinnerbaits on windblown ponts.
  5. I was there Last Saturday (the 3rd) from 8 to noon. Very windy, blowing from right to left as you head up lake. The concensus of many was that cranks and spinnerbaits would work, but I couldnt get any action. Fished the coves above Christopher Run...nothing! Moved ito Harlow Creek about 10:00 and fished a Strike King bleeding tube and a jig on the docks and caught 3. 2 were dinks, and one was 4-41/2 lbs (felt heavier..pic is below) The jig was a 5/8 oz green, with green pumpkin grub. Surface water temp was 60 and I marked a lot of fish at the mouth of creeks (including Harlow.) When I went to the backs of the creeks I saw no activity at all. This fish was tight to the dock, shady side, in 3 ft of water. With the colder temps this week, I expect the fish to be ready to turn on anytime.
