I would say the plug is number one. Tip: I have gotten by using some mud/clay and packed the hole and it was solid as hell, fished all day like that!

Small lakes chocked w/ timber - Acidic?
I am just kinda curious about lakes, small lakes, that are chocked top to bottom with timber. These usually have a brownish clarity to them, not muddy ( you know what I mean Is there any benifit or negative effects of a small lake being chocked top to bottom with timber?

10 ft. jon and hauling 3 miles... Wheels on jon??
I haven't looked into Kayaks, but did own a folding one once (tote n boat) and it sucked ***. If you went an inch off center line, it was going over and jackie chan wouldn't be quick enough to correct it! I fell in 40 degree water, thankfully close to the bank, sold that d**n thing on ebay. I want to do this jon project and figure if I can outfit it will temporary wheels on the back, I could easily, manually haul it and to make it quicker, somehow haul it behind a mountain bike????

10 ft. jon and hauling 3 miles... Wheels on jon??
i'm brainstorming here..... I wonder if I could strap a wheel barrel under the jon in sweet balance spot?? hmmm..... I'm a small guy and would prefer to be able to haul it via a bike maybe.. Anyone done such a thing?

10 ft. jon and hauling 3 miles... Wheels on jon??
Some of my favorite places to fish are foot traffic only, so I have to go light. I would like to get a small 10ft jon, use only oars and have a small folding anchor... The catch is that I will have to haul this about 3 miles on average somehow (gravel roads). I have seen a jon a few years back on top of someones vehicle that had wheels on it... I'm even thinking about putting wheels on it and somehow hauling it with a d**n mountain bike... Is any of this possible and can someone please give me some tried and true options for doing a project like this? Much appreciation!

tubing in very cold water. Waders?
Cool. Thanks Jimzee! I did call bass pro and they got some 5mm neoprene chest highs for about $190.00 I think i'm gonna swing by and check them out. Thanks again for replying! Glad to know there are other non-fairweather fishermen out there.

tubing in very cold water. Waders?
Hey guys, I got the itch and the lakes are thawed. I have a float tube and was wanting to fish a couple strip pits but I usually do this in the summer with shorts on. Has anyone tried doing this in 40 degree water? What do you recommend to keep me from freezing? Thanks.

My biggest by far!
Thats a big fish coming out of Mass. Bass run smaller the more north you go.

gps+fishfinder connected to cigarette lighter ?
I have to say its really strange that its not working. Only thing i can think of is that it is not outputting 12 volts? I can use my radar detector just fine with it and the cord that i built actually has the cig lighter adapter on the end of the power cable where i plug that into a female male socket where that has battery clips and all that works on the boat, but when i move that to my truck, it won't power on. There must be a different voltage or something. Thanks for the ideas so far, anyone have any other solutions?

gps+fishfinder connected to cigarette lighter ?
Hello, This may sound strange to you guys, but i thought hey, why not utilize the GPS function of my Humminbird 363 combo fishfinder+gps and stick it in the truck when not on the boat and use its GPS (for what its worth) The question is that i can connect it to my 12v deep cycle battery and it powers up like normal, but when i plug it into my cigarette lighter socket in my truck, it won't come on. I am wondering why. I thought that the cigarette lighter puts out 12 volts the same as a deep cycle right? How can i get this to work? Has anyone else done this?
