strike king rage craw
I apologize for above big-o..I got Bobby from megastrike confused with you but knew you both posted here..I usually don't experiment too much outside the box but glad I decided to. Wife don't get too happy when bait monkey calls and I buy a bunch of bags of plastics to just lay around because they don't work as well as what I use mostly. I jumped and got some rage tail worms (anoconda) I believe, and the craws along with a few other things.. I didn't experiment with the worm as much, but have to say the action is a lot better than the power worm and it isn't as soft...they take a hit better. The craw just stayed busy yesterday so I had no need to change till they were gone...lol..I texas rig most of the time but i'm ready to experiment with different options now with the craw thanks again..just felt it was due to give my congrats since it worked so well yesterday

Hello I don't post here much...just mainly lurk and get ideas, wonderful I may add, from you guys here I just want to say how awesome the rage craw is. First time using it today and used a whole package on about 13 fish...I know Bobby posts here so I just want to say thank you for an AWESOME product..the craw legs are so real they get lost quickly, but I don't care..very fun bait..may even be a go to bait for me now over my normal power worm and zoom brush hog I had it rigged on 10lb mono, 1/8oz pegged bullet weight with 5/0ewg hook Im going to try my floro rig tomorrow but I got to get another pack of craws thank guys and bobby for getting me to try these

ok guys...need some help or advice
First off, hello..I don't post on here much at all because I usually find what i'm looking for by reading. But I am stumped and with a little explanation, i'm hoping you can give some advice. I am not real new to baitcasters, I have had 4 or 5 cheaper models over the years and wear them out and go to another one..I usually buy walmart specials in the 30-50$ range but have decided to step up and buy a pro qualifier bps reel. You will knock me on the pole, but I found a 6-6 ugly stick lite mismarked at walmart for $15 so I grabbed it. worse case, i can throw a zebco on it for kids pole if it is the culprit. Now, I first rigged it up with offshore angler 12lb mono and to be honest, I feel it is junk..coiled really bad off the spool before I even wound it on reel...I switched to trilene xs i think..red box..and it is better.. I can not keep it from backlashing..I have a 1/2oz drop shot weight tied on for a casting plug so to speak..I have all 6 brakes out.."not locked in" i'm assuming as the spool spins, it makes the pins come out to create drag on spool..maybe i'm wrong?..I have magnetic set from 6-9..and tension knob set to where I have to shake the rod pretty good to get it to drop to ground..I feel this is over tight personally, but I just can't keep it from backlashing..it goes haywire before it even hits the ground..I have developed a slight thumb to where i can thumb it before it hits ground/water and keep it from backlashing that way, but this is even before it hits ground...in mid air so my question/questions are what to do? do I possibly have a faulty reel? are these reels finicky with certain mono's or mono in general? maybe I have too much wrist?.. can someone point me in right direction? I know this reel is better than this or I hope...having to choke it to where I only get about 40ft out without having backlashing is strange to me..or is this the norm?... Thanks for any advice you can point out... I have to say I know that some things are not "the best" but given my circumstances, I work with what I can...I have a disabled wife and a job that is crushed by economy right now here so I'll get there when I can I guess is what i'm saying...I know the ugly stick isnt the best pole around, but I wanted it really to throw frogs and jigs and maybe heavier texas rigged worms or what have you

Quantum Escalade
thank you reelmechanic on the td1 info and fishtank for checking it out in hand. I will probably try the revo or wait and see what the one under it is about when it gets in more hands..black/silver and gold colored one...i can't remember the name off hand...or just cough it up for the curado...as for quantum reels, the only one that i've had that I did like was the older round one like the calcutta..but I traded it back to then, galyans, for the curado.

Quantum Escalade
thx guys!! I didn't know if it was just an 08 model that hasn't been listed yet or if it was a special reel. I will take the advice though and move on reelmechanic, do you work on the team diawa td1pi reels? If this is a discussion that needs to be done off here, I understand..just wondering

Quantum Escalade
First of all, Hey all!!!...I've been lurking here for awhile and decided to register and join your forum. Great site and info as well. I was checking out this weeks sale add for Dick's Sporting goods and seen what is called the Escalade...Both in spinning and casting versions. I was wondering if any of you have used this reel and if so, your opinions? I've only used a few baitcasters and want to try a newer one. I had a friend give me an old Team Diawa and it is a decent reel, but not really that smooth. I see a lot of people on here recommend the revo reels and this is what i'm looking for. Sub 100ish type reels. As for the quantum, i've had a some good and bad on the quantum reels..the older round tour usa i believe, was a good reel, but I liked the green curado better and traded it.. I don't want to go extreme on first post and wear you all out.....thank you for any help or insight you may have
