Like Jacobhookem said, just mix. I can't afford to buy a bunch of different colors so I mix a lot of mine. Just keep mixing til you get what you want.

Bob P, Will it come through the seal coat that I put on it? I use Etex to seal my baits.

I got it this summer in Canada from a neighbor of my in-laws. He uses it all the time to fix things around his house which is on the lake. It has so much oil in it he doesn't have a problem much with it rotting. I brought it back from up there. It was basically just boards and chunks of lumber. I was a little surprised when I crossed back into the states but they didn't even ask about it. They gave me a pretty detailed inspection also because I didn't have a written letter from my wife saying that she gave me permission to bring my daughter across the border. Anyway, we made it. lol

I always clear after the foil before painting also but I just have not painted and then tried to see if it shines through. It seems like it is really drab after I paint over the cleared foiled. I'll just have to try it.

That is a circuit board lip or Micarta or G10 or 11.

Are those transparent paints. I haven't seemed to get the right effect over foil. I've not tried clearing and maybe that is the problem. It looks drab when I paint over the foil but maybe if I went ahead and cleared it the shine would come through the drab paint over it. Is this likely?

I had looked at a juvenile pic of one on the Wisconsin fisheries website but honestly I forget about it when I start to paint. I'll have to give it a try.

To the bottom of the 9' pool. lol But that was pre paint and last clear. Now it is frozen over.

A Lure I made for my pastor. Don't know how all these colors ended up on a lure together. lol

This bait is one of my first made from yellow cedar. It is really easy to work. I had used basswood quite a bit and honestly hate it. I think you could say that this wood is probably waterproof without anything on it. There is a lot of waxy oil in the wood. More than red cedar I would say. I smell great after working on some cedar lures for a while too. haha

I hadn't painted a rainbow trout pattern in a while so I thought I would pull it out on this bait.

This is a new bait design that I'm working on made from balsa. I thought I would paint it in a threadfin pattern. Can't wait to fish it unless I give it away for a Christmas present. lol

It's not topwater. It's a downsized musky crankbait. Actually, I do it that way on all my through wire baits whether they are bass or musky. I just make the musky one more. It could be a large bass bait too though. Most musky fisherman think it's too small and most bass fisherman think it's too big. You know, one of those.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean but what I do is I take half the bait and use it as a guide for my whole wire since the other half will come back flush with the side I am using. I just bend a wire back through the lure as I go and I don't have to worry about whether I get the bends in the right place because I can see where they are in relation to the lure. When I get to the end of the lure I just make a loop and as many wraps as I have wire left and I'm done. I do make press the two halves together then to make an imprint in the lures and then make a groove following the imprint with the rotary tool. The epoxy I glue it together with will fill any gaps. I hope this makes sense. Maybe I can post pics sometime.

The first bait (red, blue, gold) darts while it wiggles as you retrieve it. I can't wait to fish it. The second one (firetiger type) thumps so hard the end of your rod tip looks like your using a 5 in bluegill for bait.

Taylor, do you mean because of the size? It's not that big. I haven't seen a lipless as big as it but I think there are some out there. I think rat-l-trap makes one called the mega trap or something like that. Any three or four pound or bigger bass would eat it as far as size goes. And as you know, the way bass are probably a smaller one would.

I don't know why this model of bagley doesn't have the cult following some of the others do because when I put the original in the water I thought the way it looked was awesome. This is my copy of it. It isn't exact but close and of course mine has a garolite lip.

Just a couple smoo type baits with garolite lips.

I had muskies in mind with this bait. It is a small muskie bait but I'm excited about it because it shimmies on the fall and I think I can jig it like a spoon as well as swim it.

This was something I thought of trying. I'm sure someone else has done it and I may have even seen it somewhere on here so I thought I would try it. It works pretty well. The bait does hunt. I don't know if it's the weighting or the curve of the blade.
