First of all, I would like to thank everyone for there all the great reading I have done the past few days.
I've always bought custom jigs from our local pro shop and will continue to buy my supplies from him, however I would like to design my own color combinations and what not to be a little different than what everyone else is using.
Anyway, I plan on tying my skirts on with thread, however have seen a lot of posts about using 24 gauge copper wire. What is the advantage of the wire over wrapping? The twisting of the wire makes sense to me, but could someone post a picture of how/where to cut the excess off at? I know the wire size, but what thread would you suggest?
I also use only St. Croix Elites (14 rods currently) and really like the split butt sections of the new Tournament Bass Rods, does anyone know if St. Croix does any custom work to keep warranty, and if not what do you guess a custom rod maker would charge to do this per rod?
Thanks all, I can see the finding of this site is going to be expensive!
Happy Holidays,
Steve
