  1. I've never kept track when I get five fish in the boat. From there, it's all relative to what kind day it is on the water. Tournaments are a good way to judge your day, even if you aren't in one. You can check on the web for results, or ask the guys at the weigh in. Just don't be that guy that spouts off at the weigh in, "I would taken your money had I been in this." No one likes that guy.
  2. I use Stabil Blue Marine Formula.
  3. You might want to set your drag a little differently. I fished all weekend for trout and salmon with bass gear - a five fish limit would have been about 65 lbs. I didn't break a single rod, LOL.
  4. It really depends on where I'm throwing the traps. For snapping off weeds or deep yo-yo retrieves, I like a M/F rod, and use a St. Croix LTB70MF "Teaser" with 12# P-Line CXX and a high speed Zillion. For rocks, I prefer a more traditional cranking setup that has a slower taper and more forgiveness when rebounding off rocks. I use a St. Croix Avid AVC70MHM with 12# fluoro and a high speed Zillion. If I am skipping a trap under docks, I go with a shorter, X-fast rod, either an AVC62MXF or AVC68MXF with 12# P-line CXX. Reel doesn't make much difference, just that you are capable of skipping a bait with it.
  5. If you are looking for some inanimate object to give you an advantage in competition, you've already become a donator. Learn your lakes, understand how the fish relate, and what baits work in that lake. Learn how to catch them on a bad day for fishing, and just realizing that it's becoming a bad day for fishing and you'll do well.
  6. LOL, then use the fluoro - it will be fine.
  7. I had a similar problem. I ended up needing to align the axle. It was off by about 3" amazingly. She's squared up now. I basically launched the boat, tied her off, and did the work in the parking lot. My 12yo son was the extra set of hands. Took about an hour. Make sure the distance from the tang to the axle is EXACTLY the same on each side.
  8. Saturday and Sunday, weather provided. I'll call/text you. I can't go far, blew a trailer tire, and my spare is bald. I'd love to hit Erie, but I'm really limited until I can get $$$ for new tires.
  9. Ok, I got to page 3, and can't go on. Yuck.
  10. OK, I don't really like braid for cranks at all, but if it's not broke, why fix it?
  11. Rods made in Mexico do not get the lifetime warranty.
  12. I'm just exporting one I edited on my phone....stay tuned - that crap above was just raw footage.
  13. Mesquite for any BBQ, Mexican,or Asian marinade. Apple for fruity marinades. I mostly smoke cure, but will smoke cook them as well.
  14. Livewell is a cool little log that has a length/girth to weight converter, picture album, and more.
  15. Depends on the hook. I use wide gap finesse hooks, so a reel set is all I need.
  16. One? There will be a dozen or more. These guys don't just victimize one kid.

Just to be clear, I haven't tried the rig. That is my friends Burnie and Mike.
  18. 6# Invisx on a spinning reel since spring '10. 12 Trilene 100% since mid summer '10. Here's a good one...8# Sufix Siege MONO! on my centerpin reel for third winter season. All get treated liberally with KVD L&L
  19. The school can recover from this issues, but those boys won't. Ever.
  20. Wait until you get into the real world and have to take the corporate required training about workplace harassment and export compliance, LMAO.
  21. No need to fizz, unless you take them on a livewell ride.
