  1. Split channel processing, instead of desaturate or levels conversion.
  2. Yep, I'll use both, 15# power pro + leader or straight fluoro. I prefer straight fluoro, though - especially when dragging.
  3. Yet, the "average angler" posts here all the time that Lucky Crafts are too much. Guess you can't please them all.... I just hope the lure works. It probably will, Luck-E-Strike is usually good stuff.
  4. All valid, ww2farmer. BTW, the zebe encrusted coontail is on Cayuga. When you're punching through it 12' down to get to the bottom at 15', and you are seeing frayed braid, its ugly, LOL.
  5. what does it flat out suck for? No doubt I would use fluoro over braid in certain situations, but I have yet to find a set up that braid "sucks" at. Freezing air temps Concrete and or steel structure Zebra/quagga mussels Coontail on certain lakes - has zebes growing on it Deep smallie fishing. You simply get more bites on fluoro. Pretty much any treble hooked bait.
  6. I don't think I've seen the third one, but that is a really cool picture!

  8. This was made by my friend Jack. I'm not in any of the footage, but its a really good show of what we do up here in the winter.
  9. That doesn't address ANY of the issues brought up earlier in this thread. What issues were there besides the ratio of size:location? If you want it to be fair, you'll have to add some parity. The AMI calculator would be one method. State records are what's been used in the past. And don't over complicate it.
  10. Braid is great for some things, and flat sucks for others.

  12. Fours are huge? Ok. They're big, special, decent, nice, respectable, good catches, but not huge. The only reason to fish Onandoga is because you got blown off Oneida, or its a points tournament.
  13. Yep, Smak Red Tune. High performance light SW reel. The swpt handle is to prevent busting your knuckles.
  14. Crummy cell phone shot of Edgar:
  15. I'll be there the same time, 9th to the 17th. We're at Black's Camp, I think.
  16. Scumfrog Trophy - better hookups. I'll be there in April as well. From the pics the guys brought back last year, you'll want to use cheapo frogs......gators love them, LOL.
  17. I wouldn't be so sure about location as you think. Last year on KBF, I think the two biggest fish submitted for the competition were both over 25", and one was on a fly in VA. The other was a swimbait fish from RI.
  18. Its pretty obvious to me, the tail was burned another bait. I just pulled an Elaztech fluke out of the bottom of my bag that mated with three or four other baits - results look just like the pic. Here's my best guess. Berkley went goofy with their worm colors back when, and this looks like it could be one of them. Many, many anglers complained, and wanted the old colors back. Poor sales must have told them to go back, and the new colors were fazed out. IIRC, this was late 90s, early 2000s? Anyone remember this?
  19. I just took my CI4 knob apart, and I'm not 100% sure I could replace it with any Shimano knob. There's two bearings, a plastic sleeve, and a bush built into the bottom of the handle post. Anyway, mu point is maybe the EVA knobs need special consideration in their design, and can't be easily adapted. Luckily I like the round knob. Don't think I would like the squared off knob.
  20. Maybe they're zombie cattle?
  21. So there's a screw and a bearing in there? Well, why can't you just buy a plastic knob then?
  22. What is the purpose of the coin slot cap on the side of the knob then?
