  1. Thanks guys. The club is pretty tore up about this. Some of the guys also worked along side Billy everyday as well. Calling hours are at the Turner Funeral Home on Rt. 19 in Bergen, Friday 4-8 PM.
  2. Try a Lake Fork Live Magic Shad, rigged sideways as a jig trailer. I haven't yet, but I have used beat up paddle tails and super flukes like this. Caught a few bass, but I was mostly targeting northerns.
  3. Paul, do you run into any complications from massive growth? I can recall issues when I ran my cichlid hatchery with "power feeding" fry to get them ready for sale sooner. Maybe it isn't an issue when the fish are over a certain size class hump? That is a freaking beautiful fish, BTW.
  4. Very true. In fact, chatting up people on the docks can lead to some very relevant info. I know of at least one lunker winning in our club that came from chatting up two ladies on the dock. "There's a huge fish under our dock. I don't know if its a bass, seems too big. Try and catch it!" It was a bass. 5+.
  5. Looks really close to the Outkast jigs I've developed a liking for the past few years. I'd definitely be in for some in the spring. Pretty well stocked up right now.
  6. Spro, Scumfrog Trophy and BigFoots, Deps Basyriski.
  7. Bill Lacy, Flower City Sportsman's Angler of the Year 2010 and Classic Winner has left us today. Billy was one of the funniest quiet guys I knew. You had to pay attention, since his best zingers were pretty subtle. He also happened to one hell of a jig fisherman. Not even that, just one hell of a good fisherman. I was only able to fish one tournament with him, and a few days of practice. It didn't make any difference what the circumstances were, he was just there to catch some fish, and have a good time. I'll miss him. Rest in peace, buddy. The perfect weedline awaits you.
  8. Take a look at Dereyter Res. Seriously.
  9. I have a custom swimbait rod built on a St. Croix 4C79HF with micros, spiral wrapped. I love them. Yes, they are a bit delicate - bent a few - and I agree on the bigger tip.
  10. My biggest is a 22 lb. hen. Good Luck! My biggest trout is probably that rainbow LOL I've only been fishing for trout since last season. I've got a LOT of learning to do! You're gonna want to target Great Lakes tribs for your best bet at a trophy. http://www.fish.state.pa.us/water/lakes/erie/00erie.htm OK, here's one for today, metalhead breaching:
  11. Big Brother is always watching..... 8-)
  12. From his home page: Anyone order from him lately? Is he really closed for business until the new year?
  13. My biggest is a 22 lb. hen. Good Luck!
  14. Nice going, Tin. Way to :-X ;D ;D Mike, look up "wiggle rigs", "spectastic" or go to the Secret Weapon Lures website.
  15. I've done in my fair share of rods the same way. Really, that type of fishing, and with that grass on Champ, is very abusive to gear.
  16. Just call or email them. http://www.pinnaclefishing.com/shop/t-contact.aspx It's that easy.
  17. Not sure if I posted this one here yet. Mine's bigger than yours, Nate! I do love fall browns. A couple more weeks and my ditches will filed with them. They're in the bigger rivers already.
  18. Look for a Sol. I have a few. Great reels, can cast light baits, and heavy just fine.
  19. I go for cereal that tastes like dirt and has the texture of sticks and gravel. Toss some dried fruit in there, and pour on the Lactaid.
  20. It probably doesn't matter, no reel is waterproof. I can move this to the Pinnacle forum if you'd like, and maybe they can help you out better.
  21. Its a tough call. If your talking shad, you can usually narrow it down to two or three predominant herring species. With crabs, there are over 300 described species. One thing is for sure, if you're on a "crab bite" on a "crab lake" you might want to know a little about the coloration, habitat, and any migratory behavior. Same would go for a shad pattern.
  22. For stuff like LC RC3.5, Norman DD22, Rap dt16 and DT20, Bomber FF Shad, I'll use a #3. Big swimbaits get a #3 or #4, though some are better tied direct.
  23. There's a pretty big difference between silicone spray and L&L.
  24. That thing is perfect for what I do.
