  1. L'Hopital it!!!! Sorry, I say that for EVERY math problem, LOL.
  2. I highlighted the two that would be decent choices. The W&M is unproven, and I haven't even seen one. The Quantum, ehhh.... Quantum guys love them, but I've seen my fair share of early deaths.
  3. 2010 Sierra with a 6.2. I get 19.7 with mostly highway. I towed a 19' Nitro fish and ski with a 150 (pretty heavy boat for the size) to Vermont, and had 15.1 mpg. Gunning it every light and driving "expeditiously" gets you about 12 mpg.
  4. Unless you are in some emergency situation, out of hooks and must catch a fish, there's no point sharpening a chemically sharpened hook. Replace it.
  5. Slow and steady, unless you want to catch northern pike....then twitch away.
  6. Oh no, not THE hat....Hey J, you better dig up that post and delete it before one of us finds it... I'll spare you the trouble.
  7. I throw them with an Avid AVC70MHM, Daiwa Sol, and 10# CXX. Even works for small fish. See my avatar.
  8. Nah....it was fun while it lasted..... But, this one is GONE!!!!!!!!
  9. Yes. You wanna buy one of my swimbaits?
  10. Five, what direction are you rigging the X-tail Shad? I've been nose hooking them, flat side up.
  11. I remember a similar study done by the Mo. conservation dept. fisheries division. The results were similar. Apparently the craws fulfill more of the dietary demands of a bass thus they get more nutritional bang for the buck when the eat them. I swear I've read in In-Fisherman that herring type fish offer more nutrition than crayfish. Maybe I'm wrong, but I remember something about oily, soft ray fish having the highest nutritional value. Hence the big trout fed CA bass. That bass prefer crayfish seems to be a consensus, and I actually voted wrong. I really need to read better, LOL.
  12. I think mine is the male. My fish really aren't too picky, but I bet pressured bass would respond to making one or the other act like blue gills on beds - male holding and defending territory, female cruising. For the most part, toss it out, wait, and slow retrieve. If I see a wake, I'll pause, and then sweep, and pause. It really looks like a fleeing gill.

  14. The blue flat would be deadly up here.
  15. Do you have the floater or the sinker? What kind of fish have you caught with it?
  16. I answered shad/baitfish. They are more nutritious than crabs, and are easier to catch. If you've ever seen video of bass eating crabs, especially smallmouth, you'd see what I mean. That said, bass seem to really like to eat crabs. Put a crab in a lake where there aren't crabs, I bet the bass go nuts for them.
  17. Poor baby, this is what I did while on lunch break a few minutes ago.... Believe it or not, it isn't even close to being a keeper. Crazy regs up here!
  18. I do, but under certain circumstances. In fact, a fast action rod is ideal for traps in weeds, and worms in wood. Too fast with worms, and you lose the sling shot effect, too slow with traps, and you bring coontail back to the boat with the lure. My LTBC70MF or LTBCMHF both are up to the task. Point noted. I'll try to keep that in mind next time I'm working a rattle-trap over weeds. Thanks for correcting me. Not a correction, just an opinion.
  19. Self Portrait for Wednesday:
  20. This look a little better, LOL:
  21. Next time, just call them. You can also simply order the tip kit from their site. I usually get the replacement in tip in two days.
  22. Wait until his lakes freeze and he can't fish. He might have us all on lock down Lakes might freeze, but the ditches don't.....
  23. Just pick up some weighted screw-lock hooks. One reason why the Senko can catch so many fish is because of its sink rate. Adding a weight would take away from its natural action IMO. I'll still try it though and see if I can get some bites. Another reason is that it slips through certain weedy cover, getting to fish the creature guys can't get to, when t-rigged with a bullet weight.
  24. On Champlain, two of our boats helped a guy with a capsized racing sailboat. Dude was half in the bag. Both boats finished in the money.

My three year old is all about everything being stupid. I have no doubt his older brother is responsible. Ignore it, or answer bluntly and truthfully. Its annoying, but some "Why's" are worth talking about.
