Keen. I have foot issues, and these are the most comfortable footwear I own.
  2. I hear ya. I should be more pumped. Generally, I do a cash deal on a barely used car. This is a loan, on a brand new one. We'll see, since a have a few years to decide, LOL. I'll be pumped in the morning when I figure out all the gadgets. At least the cab is big enough to take 7'+ rods.
  3. Not really. My last vehicle purchase was in 1998. Still own that car, a 1996 Maxima.
  4. GMC Sierra Ext Cab, 4x4, Z71, Power Plus, Towing Package, Other Assorted Nonsense that comes with trucks these days.
  5. Specifically for flick shake. It will also be great for skipping flukes and Senkos under docks, even vertical drop shot, though I have a slightly longer rod for that.
  6. The issue is with consistency. If I lose a proven bait, I want to know it can be replaced with an IDENTICAL lure. This is not always the case, and even some expensive lures don't live up to this expectation.
  7. You could try this method: http://www.kayakbassfishing.com/kbfBB3/viewtopic.php?f=124&t=536&hilit=wallbanger%27s+guide
  8. I use the Teaser for those baits. The Sweeper is a fairly heavy power rod, for a MH rating. If you're used to that, then go for the Sweeper. Both are excellent rods, and I would argue those two could cover 90% of my fishing needs.
  9. St. Croix Avid AVS63MLXF Shimano Stradic CI4
  10. Depends on what you start with and what you add.
  11. Tie a palomar knot with a long tag end. Run the tag end back through the top of the hook's eye, and gently pull on the tag so the knot rotates a bit. Ive been old to ALWAYS try to eliminate ANY twists in the knot when tying it. I think this may create weak spots. Not sure if its true, but its a rule of thumb for me either way. If you are using fluorocarbon, then yes, the knot must be tied perfectly. If there is a kink or twist before the hook, start over, or it will likely fail.

  13. These hooks work great for t-rigging worms on a drop shot. I generally use a smaller, open hook, like Gamakatsu Split Shot/Drop Shot or Owner Mosquito hooks, but if your bait is getting fouled by weeds, these work well. Owner Down Shot hooks:
  14. The Gander brand are total garbage.
  15. The only show set on DVR is Hunt For Big Fish with Larry Dahlberg.
  16. My favorite is not the best catcher in my stable. I still love the things, though. Deps Basyriski. Funny little bait.
  17. #3 Duo Lock snap. Use a Palomar knot to tie on the snap.
  18. is that like a life jacket fishing vest that has a bullet proof vest built in? That thing is crazy Stohlquist Fisherman, a kayak fishing vest. Unbelievable range of motion.
  19. Just use regular old bell sinkers. Nothing special required for bubba shotting.
  20. You're right. Have Burley do it for you, LOL.
  21. Wayne, did you see what Paul Roberts did to his big floating Rapala? Heated the lip with a lighter, bent it, and now its a waker. Not sure you want to try this with the Cracker, though....
  22. Man, is your back that bad? That stinks. For reference, the backpack I carry weighs about 8 lbs. Maybe that's too much? Either way, I like to mobile when shore/wade fishing.
  23. That Friday is gonna be nuts for me. I'm taking a 1/2 day, running to Fairhaven, do a little spot checking for Saturday's TX, then I've got some family stuff in the evening. We'll hook up soon.
