Stress Coat?
So, if you catch dinks, put them in the well. If you catch big ones, put them back.

ardent flip n' pitch reel
Yep, I used it. Works great, didn't feel cheap at all. Looks like a boob, though, LOL. Burnie is really trying to put it through its paces. He bought it because it looked and sounded like a neat concept. Burnie is a three time ABA AOY, been on the state team six times, etc., and he doesn't take equipment for granted. Most of his other reels are Steez. If he says its good, then its good. My gripe is the preset drag, but then again, it literally is a single purpose reel.

Jury Duty tomorrow
In actuality, I don't know of a single company that docks a salaried employee for serving. Now, the hourly folks get screwed, most of the time though. You are probably right. I'm pretty sure my time spent on jury selection (two and a half days) coded as, "Approved Paid Absence - Jury Duty," or something like that. i was just infusing a little political humor, if that's even possible. What?!? Impossible!!!!

Salary workers
Uhhh, why not? How do you think they get their performance baselines? Its pretty easy to track a salaried employee these days. Work output, that's another story. BTW, I build web based reporting solutions for just that - tracking workers and what they do.
-
Salary workers
I am salary exempt. I do track effort, on a project by project basis, and sick days, holidays, vacation, pers. time is tracked. I get paid the same monthly salary, regardless.

question for quantum lovers
The Accurist is a much better reel than the Code. As far as "plastic gear" in the Code, this is a mirepresentation. The Code has a brass main and pinion gear. The plastic gears are non stressed "idler" gears that actuate the levelwind wormdrive. Just like some other "high end" reels, like Steez, TD-Z, Calais, STX, etc. :

I'll get in before the lock, LOL, but the thought of corporations paying jurors sounds familiar....

ardent flip n' pitch reel
A friend of mine fished with one, loaded it with 30# Triple Fish fluorocarbon, and it worked great. The line did dig in a bit, but really, it always does when fihsing like that. Here it is, saddled to a BPS Extreme Flipping stick.

left or right handed? newbie question.
Actually, 'goofy" or "regular" foot has NOTHING to do with "strong foot" in back or front. Regular is is left foot forward, and goofy is right foot forward. It derives from surfing.I'm right handed, right footed, skate goofy, throw right, bat left, golf left, and reel using both left and right handed baitcasters, depending on the app.

Kinda a dumb question
This is specifically made for throwing flies on spinning gear. They work quite well: http://www.rainbowplastics.com/cart/display.php3?ID=I493&token=98aec46797f7d65319 {EDIT: someone beat me to the punch, LOL}

Jerk Bait hook set - need some help
Unless the fish is deep and directly below you, I'd keep the rod low, and perpendicular to the fish, for any treble hook bait.

Stress Coat?
That is actually a chemical sold for aquarium fish. I don't know the effectiveness in a wild setting. I don't really buy into the thought of the "stress pheromone" and I know bass are not all that intelligent, but I think seeing my buddy get ripped out of the water by his face would be less of a deterrent than seeing him not come back ;D Yea, J's joke went over my head for a minute ;D Surprisingly, I did find a link that said some do use it in the livewell. You can use it in the livewell, and on your hands before handling fish. I used it when handling large fish for shipping (tropical aquarium fish) especially if they were too large to effectively net from a tank. Personally, something like Rjuvenade or simply 1/3 cup Kosher salt per 10 gal water in the livewell works just as well, if not much better. Sorry to drift off topic there. Still wondering about any response from someone that actually knows about this.... :-/

Stress Coat?
Joking aside, I am actually curious about this, as I've heard of this, but my personal experience doesn't seem to bear this out. I'm not sure if I'd know, or if their was any way to prove or disprove the effect in the field.

SOL or Fuego
If you fish in salt, get the Sol. Otherwise, get the Fuego.

Line Conditioners
I really think something else got to that reel while in storage. I also buy bulk spools, and pretreat them with KVD. At least one spool is almost a year old, and I haven't had ANY issues like you describe. Is it possible it got warm, or was exposed to sun light? I don't doubt you, it just sounds really weird to me. I went back and forth about posting this. It's tough to make a blanket judgement over one bad experience. But I guess I was curious if I was alone on this. I put the KVD on heavy, spraying it on the spool as I added line, as well as soaking a cloth and running the line through the cloth. Maybe I over did it...or maybe something else is to blame. I store my rods in the back of the garage, no heat in the winter, no sun. I hear you, and I also know that you would be very careful about that. Like I said, it only surprised me, one because it came from you, and two, it was the complete opposite. For kicks, grab a $7 filler spool, pretreat it with any KVD you have left, and toss it in your garage for six months. Try the line, and report back. *************************************************************** To all you guys that can't tell a difference, or think its all hype - you are crazy. Ok, maybe not all of you, but Muddy certainly is, LOL. (Just kidding, bro!) Seriously, I know what you mean. There are things that I can't tell the difference, or don't even care about. Its like that with fluorocarbon. Everyone wants their line to be like fresh Trilene XL, and then wonder why it breaks so easily. Personally, I don't really care how it handles, or casts. I don't want it to break. Look at all the people that use Yo-Zuri or P-Line, and love it. There are always a ton that say its junk, even one that said it breaks in your hands! I know I can't stand using a reel not treated with KVD now. The stuff literally makes the "tougher to manage" lines much more manageable. In winter freezing conditions, it really improved the performance of porous mono, Suffix Siege in my case, by displacing water so well, the the line resisted freezing. It actually did a better job than Reel Magic, as long as the spool was pre treated heavily the night before.

Name this hook
The Rig'n Hook needs no modification, since it apready has the offset hookpoint. Its also an improvement over any hook of this type. Bending the hook usually weakens the temper, and if you are flipping cover, using biug hooksets, they will open up.

Name this hook
It's definitely not a Wide Gap Plus, in fact I'm sure it isn't an Owner, but Owner Rig'n Hooks feature the offset hookpoint like the one on the right. Great tube hook.

Is the USPS really that useless?
There's no record, because you haven't received shipment. Once you receive the shipment, then there will be a record. LOL. Once I receive it, I don't need a record. When USPS tell me they have no record of such a number, it makes me wonder where the vendor got the number, if not from USPS. Neither the vendor nor the USPS refer to it as a delivery confirmation. Both call it a tracking number. Sorry, FR, I'll explain one more time, because you're missing the purpose of the tracking ID. Its A TRACKING NUMBER FOR RECEIPT CONFIRMATION, and its meant for the SENDER. You wouldn't need it after you got the shipment, you're right, LOL, but the record can't be created until you receive the shipment. LOL. Man, this is a funny thread.

High dollar reels catch more fish?
Ever hear the expression, "Big Hat, no cattle"? Nice gear is just that - nice gear. It still needs to taken care of. Really cheap - note that I didn't say inexpensive - gear often fails. To the point of possibly ruining your time fishing. I don't think any of my combos are more than $400. There are PLENTY of great values in reels and rods out there. Even if you pay FULL RETAIL, A Shimano Citica or Daiwa Tierra on a Mojo or Premier rod could serve you a lifetime of fishing, for around $200. What is that worth to you?

Do you care what you look like when your out fishing?
WOA...definitely in the wrong place for anything 70° are above. How do you do it Man? I suffer, and wear layers for 9 months of the year. The other three months are paradise. I love August up here, 90's, 100% humidity.
