Can anyone find me this exact jig?!?!?
They are Stanley Finesse Jigs. You should be able to find a supplier that has them. The only thing that changed is the trimmed bug style skirt, something I did to mine anyway. http://www.fishstanley.com/finessejig.html

Hate to be a downer
Awe dude, that is terrible. These are the types of situations my extended family (which is huge) looks for during the holidays. Instead of buying small for everyone or picking names from a hat, we chip in and provide a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving, a ham dinner for Christmas, presents for the kids, and a little something nice for the parent(s), like a day at a spa or dinner at a nice restaurant. Perhaps your church can do something similar.

Question for drummers
I studied Philly Joe Jones brush technique, and have used them in just about every project/band I've been involved in. To say its a "lost" art is an overstatement. Their use has evolved with time as well, as unless you actually saw certain players performing, you might not know that that back beat is coming from a Djembe being smacked with a brush, not a snare drum.

Jigs and " Trailors ??? "
http://www.unclejosh.com/unclejosh/modules/cart/ That they are better for cold water is a myth. I use them and plastic trailers in any temp.

T.O. Interview on Sportscenter....
Who cares about the off field drama. TO draws a double team, and when he doesn't he catches more often then he drops, especially in the end zone. The dude has 9 TDs and 34 FDs so far. I'd say that's reason enough to put up with it. You have to realize that a lot of this is manufactured by the media, and feeds into Jones' idea to keep Dallas in news. Any news is good news to him.

weighing dead fish
I agree. Our club has a deduction for dead fish as well. I think its lip service for all the fish huggers. Don't get me wrong, I am 99% C&R for bass, but I think this rule is for show, and serves no actual purpose. As for fizzing fish, please do not start sticking needles into a fish's gut unless you are truly seeing symptoms of baro trauma. This generally only happens in depths greater than 30' and when fish are not allowed to return to the depths after being caught, i.e. in the livewell for a TX. There are many theories and documents on the web that show how to fizz. Personally, I've had success fizzing from the side, not the the mouth.

WNY Winter Fishing
Yeah, I know! I was married to the float and snagger beads that day. Kase and I finally switched to a bottom bouncing rig and trout worm. He ended up with three hookups, fishing right next to me! What's odd is, I was downstream from all of them and had 1st crack at any fresh fish. I joked that it was my offering that got them turned on for them, and it was my skunk that they were biting LOL.

If its a "put and take" mentality, its hard to discourage the snaggers. If they stocked smolts in there, you could argue that CPR would yield better fish. That's pretty much how they do it here, and many spring run rainbows are actually "wild" descendants of naturally reproducing stockies. We don't get any Atlantics up here, as far as I know. Just lakers, splake, 'bows, 'hos, browns, brookies, and kings. Nice, nice fish, BTW.

WNY Winter Fishing
I've posted a few pics of what we do up here when the ponds freeze up, but I thought I'd post a few more recent pics. Tokyo Tony: I did end up on the SR Sunday, but action was slow, and flow was high at 1100cfm. We all had a hard time getting our baits to stay down. The five of us went 3-11, combined. I didn't get a whiff. Friday nights are spent prepping baits, and repairing gear. Ice gets into drag washers, main lines get twisted, reels that got dunked need to be cleaned and rebuilt, LOL. Although the fishing doesn't really get going until a couple of hours after first light, its important to stake your claim early on a good stretch. They fill up fast. Turkey day rainbow for our friend Joe: A surprise, a Chinook hen full of eggs. very late for these to be around. Getting pics of the shot adds to the fun. Hmmm...looks like goon tracks here: Not all of our state is pristine wilderness. Its not all brown and chrome here in the early winter. I caught this thing while dragging a tube for smallies: They aren't always huge up here, either. You gotta start somewhere. A beaut from the SR by my buddy. We even got some bass guys into the fun. Some might recognize this guy from recent Lunkerville episodes, Hail to the Chief, as Mike Cusano. His first time out for SR trout. Here's Burnie Haney, ABA Div. 124 president and AOY, three years running. He does htis all winter long. Yes, that is a Daiwa Steez he's using, LOL: He lips them just like a bass! NY Bass Chapter Fed AOY, Randy L hooks into a SR chromie: . I didn't fare so well on the past two trips to the SR. I'm 0-0 this year. Yes folks, not even a hookup! Here is a little brown I landed this past Saturday, on western NY trip. SR chrome in action. We love the pink worms and so do they, LOL. Enjoy!

Tips for using flukes?
If you're having trouble with hookups, try nose hooking them with a 1/0 Owner Mosquito hook.

I do the same type of thing in the yak, except I use the skeg to hang in the pads and anchor the boat. I also will use the paddle as a mud anchor, like flats fishers do. In open water, I have an 8# mushroom, a small grappling anchor, or a drift sock to slow the drift.

Tom, your canoe is beautifully rigged, and thanks for the detailed explanation of your mods.

bottom composition for the spawn
I've seen those oddballs spawners too. Personally, when I look at a lake, I look for a relatively solid bottom, some form of cover, like weeds, lay downs, 55 gal. drums, washing machines, LOL, and proximity to deep water. I'm also going to key on structure. Bays and coves off main lake points that feature a strong secondary point are my favorite place to start. One thing to know, if you roll up, and see bedding fish, back off! You need to develop a keen eye to spot potential beds from a distance.

Left-handed casting?
I'm selling on this whole "set with the stronger arm" thing. I'm of slight build, like a buck-fifty wet, and I have no doubt that many of your "weak arms" are much stronger than both of my arms put together. But I guarantee I run a harder stump puller hookset than most. In fact, anyone that fishes with me for the first time sees me swing, and are usually shocked, LOL. Its not from brute strength though, its leverage. Perhaps the fact that I've been playing drums for 30 years has some effect, but I don't feel like my left is any weaker, just slightly less coordinated. Good hook sets are required for certain bait, like weedless jigs or worms, and for both baits, we generally prefer a longer, MH to H rod. Why? Most will say to lift the fish from cover, but before that even happens, the longer rod means more tip speed which equals more line pickup and more potential force created to set the hook. The heavier power rod transmits that force back to the hook. Using braided lines or lines with less stretch works toward this goal as well. Bottom line, reel with whatever side is more comfortable. If you think there is a weakness in your hookset, examine all the parts. Maybe learning to reel with your other hand will help, but I doubt it.
