  1. Capt Gus is a popular personality around here. He has his own website. I do not have enough posts on this board to post his link. So PM me and I will send it. Last week I had a good day at the north end aound the State Park using Rattle Traps and a silver jigging spoon. For several weeks prior to that, I have spent my days around the mouth of Reeds Creek between D2 and D7 throwing Rattle Traps and other CB's and silver spoons.
  2. Not everything in this world is right for everybody in every situation... Sounds like fishing a Senko may not be for you. Find an alternate bait/lure that suits the situation you are fishing. Above all..., keep your fishing experience enjoyable. I've given up other hobbies because they turned sour. But personally, I have never had a bad day fishing. So I keep going...
  3. I have had moderate late morning success the last 2 weeks using Senkos in a variety of greenish colors in about 8 - 12 ft of water. The lake has been clear to about 6 ft and we have had mostly overcast skies. I am trolling primarily the western side of the lake around the obvious cover (trees & boulders) and quick drop-offs as well as the rocky points off the main channel. Good Luck!
  4. At the recommendation of the pretty lil sales gal, I bought that BPS Tourney reel last year as my first baitcaster. I could not be more disappointed. After my purchase, I read everything I could about adjusting it and practicing while watching TV etc... Based on the reviews about the ProLite, I will have to consider an upgrade.
  5. Hey Buckeye, The Lake Norman Hotel is the only motel that claims to have lake access and free overnight dock/slip space r it's guests. "northcarolinatouristguide.com/Advert_Displays/Advert_87.asp" (I can't post active links yet so add the w's in the front of this link when you go to use this URL) Good Luck!
