Have a night tournament around Dallas this weekend and was wondering what are some of the best fishing tactics and other helpful tips. It runs from about 6pm to 2 am I believe. Going to pre-fish Fri evening to get a better feel for the lake, bc I have never been there only my brother has. Just wondering what some of the better lures are for night outside of the black/blue worms and topwaters. Also, do you reccomend wearing a light on your hat to help you locate stuff?

I just read the thread about about prefishing, but was wondering what effect it has on a fish if they get hooked the day before. I read how a lot of people won't set up on a fish, they'll just feel the bite and move on. However, if Im throwing a spinnerbait, or rattletrap, they usually stick themselves. I have a tournament in a few weeks and I am off work Friday the day before and want to scout the area, and maybe fish it. Of course I don't want to catch some fish, and then not be able to land them the next day bc they either A) already saw this lure, or have a "sore" mouth from the previous day.

My buddy and I were talking about this on the lake yesterday, and was wondering if there is an answer to this. After fish are weighed in at the ramp, or taken a few miles away from where they were they caught, do they make it back there? We didn't think they did, because a few miles is a long way to swim, and also how would the fish know exactly where to go? Anyone know for sure about this?? On a side note, new to this board and have learned lots of new things I didn't know after fishing for many years. Appreciate everyones input.

No, its just a 2 man boat league. We can launch from any ramp, but wasn't sure which area was the best at Murray. Any tips on where to go and what to use?

I have a tournament at Murray in a few weeks and we are launching off the north ramp. Any tips on where to go and what to use. I have never fished this lake before, so I am open to anything. Smallies and Largemouth count in the tourney.

Does anyone spray their lures before they use them with scent? I have used it rarely, but was wondering if anyone thought it really helped them out a lot, and what kind you use.

What is everyones favorite lure? The one that is tied to at least one of your poles before you back the boat in and you use during tournaments. I like throwing a wacky worm rig. Depending on the color clarity will effect my worm color, but I always put a few tiny split-shots just above the hook to help sink it faster and give me more action.
