Bass Night Fishing Help

Featured Replies

Have a night tournament around Dallas this weekend and was wondering what are some of the best fishing tactics and other helpful tips.

It runs from about 6pm to 2 am I believe. Going to pre-fish Fri evening to get a better feel for the lake, bc I have never been there only my brother has.

Just wondering what some of the better lures are for night outside of the black/blue worms and topwaters.

Also, do you reccomend wearing a light on your hat to help you locate stuff?

Send a PM to Matt Fly  :)

Try throwing a black spinnerbait, any type of rattle trap, crankbaits. Anthing that will cause a reaction strike. :)

Once you locate some fish slow down and try a red shad zoom u-tail or old monster.  Works for me.

A black spinnerbait even in clear water?

Oh yeah. My top 5 baits for night fishing are:

1) Black/Blue spinnerbait

2) Anything Chart./Black on a shakey head

3) Black/Blue jig

4) Black Grape power worm

5)Black buzzbait

You could say anything with black is good :)

Was it pretty toasty? Nothing like fishing in 90+ temps.......

at night.

Too late but,

Anything dark and UP size!

I always start out my night fishing with a Berkley Powerbait " Black Blue Flake/Blue Claws, Then go to a Chompers " Black-Blue Flake 4" Skirted Grub(garlic & salt), if they aren't biting on the plastics I'll throw a Black Spinner Bait with one single (BIG) Blade and slow roll it( sometimes I fish it like a jig), and if there is lilly pads or any vegitation I will break out my best top water bait Mann's "phat series frog". Good Luck!
