  1. I like to find fish in the winter in deep water off points, drop offs, etc. and fish them vertical with spoons, jigs, drop shot. Just keep the bait in the depth the fish are showing on your depth finder and have some patience.
  2. If I got the chance to sit down and talk to a pro angler it would be Rick Clunn.
  3. Learn more about fishing a jig and a flutter spoon.
  4. If I hear thunder I'm heading in, no doubt.
  5. In a tourny anything 5+lbs will warm my feet up.
  6. I like to read about anything when it comes to fishin, but I'll say my favorite is Bassin.
  7. I like to cover as much water as I can with a rouge or trap and if that's not working I'll pitch a jig around cover, but I'll bulk up a jig with a large plastic and give it a large profile so when I get a bite its usually what I'm looking for. I look for the quality bite during cold fronts.
  8. I think it depends on the conditions like pressured lakes and weather conditions play a hugh factor in how fish will react. Fish can be real spooky in certain situations and alot of noise from fighting a fish in can affect the area (more so in shallow water). But with the perfect conditions (pre fronts, current, etc;) you could drive a truck off in your favorite hot spot and still catch fish around it. So I think it depends on the conditions you are fishing in.
  9. I noticed the water level still at 413 on pickwick so that should be normal, if it gets any higher I would go shallow with a spinner bait & jigs around flooded grass. I fished a tourn. there on May the 9th this year and the water was about 417. It was flooding the campers out there at goat island, but man did we kill some fish in that flooded grass.
  10. Once you locate some fish slow down and try a red shad zoom u-tail or old monster. Works for me.
  11. I am no expert on this subject but I know that over population of fish can stunt their size. If you have more fish than baitfish then you may need to thin the smaller ones out.
  12. Good article, I have always just cut the line close to the hook , but will try this next time.
  13. In our club we pen. .40 for dead fish.
