Happy Thanksgiving. I recently purchased a winter/retirement home near the Harris Chain of lakes and I am heading down there for the first time in January for a week and would like to get out and fish. I have access to a boat but since being from New England I was wondering if fishing FL is different from here? I was planning on fishing jigs and big swimbaits if possible. I am shipping down half of my fishing stuff and want to make sure I have everything I need when I get down there. I don't plan on sending any of my lighter gear down there. Swimbaits work up here in NE but I haven't really seen any posts where people are fishing swimbaits such as Wake jrs, Hudds, Matt Lures, and MS Slammers in FL. I was thinking of getting a guide but since I have access to a free boat I want to save the money and just get out by myself and relax. Is there any lakes that are must hits or lakes to avoid? Any advice and recommendations are appreciated and I can't wait to fish down there one week after ice fishing up here.

Has anyone ever fished the Grand Falls Flowage and Long Lake up in/near Princeton Maine any help or assistance would be appreciated. I tried to find a map of Grand Falls Flowage but was not able to find one online.

I would make sure you head over to Big Lake (it is connected to Long) this lake has everything you could want and more. Don't forget to take along pop r's.

A shooting range in Northern RI would be nice too.

I tried to get them to order me a rod last year in Foxboro and they said they couldn't do it since it wasn't in the Master catalog but it was in the fishing catalog. What BS.

So,.YUP, I found 'em!! (and we aren't done yet!! It's a small state but a big family more to come I'm sure) Lincoln, RI.

Ponds up here near Lincoln are still frozen over. I might try to go down to Worden's or Chapmans soon
