  1. No. It's pretty bad when K Mart often has better stuff than them, and that aint sayin' much :-/
  2. What......is Buffalo like the Cleveland of New York state or something ?
  3. They're lucky the game is not in Philadelphia. We would have knocked them off of the stage with snow and ice balls.
  4. I buy mine online and save a copy of the license on the 'puter so I can make copies as needed. I keep one in every tackle box, my fly fishing vest, car, truck, desk, etc. Never know when I may get the urge to grab a single rod and a pack of plastics and hit the local pond, so I want to make sure I'm covered. It's also the first thing I do when the family and I head out on vacation. I hit the Fish & Game dpt. site for wherever we're going and buy my license online. That way I can do the same thing with the multiple copies of my temp license. Exactly why I like buying them online. Riding around in a different state looking for a place to get a license and then hoping they're open is for the birds. A lot of places don't open until 8 - 9 am and I like to be on the water hours before that.
  5. What's your address ? I'm coming over Probably Chinese for me and no adult beverages. I'm on call for work this week and have to be a good boy > Wife and kids going to the in laws for the good food
  6. *hint* he doesn't mean boogers either... ;D
  7. The two piece rods of today are on par with one piece rods as far as performance and sensitivity are concerned IMO. In the past they had a (well earned) reputation as crap. If you get one, go to Mudhole's site and get a bottle of Renzetti ferrule lube. It makes for a snugger fit while allowing for easy disassembly. Paraffin wax was recommended for years but now they say it can trap tiny particles of grit and dirt which can score the male and female ferrule sections.
  8. They do. They're called "sportsman" or "outdoor" shows. They have them all throughout the country at convention centers and such. As picky as we are around here and our ability to find the best deals on stuff, you'd never sell enough at your house to break even. Ask any woman if she's ever made money selling tupperware, candles, whatever. The answer is probably no. They probably got a few free items out of it, nothing more. My sister in law was going to be a candle tycoon... :
  9. P.S. Just double the amounts for larger cuts of beef..
  10. Roast beef. Buy the fattier cuts like bottom round. They do better than leaner cuts + the fat adds flavor. I make slits throughout the roast and insert little slivers of garlic cloves. Here's a marinade recipe for beef that I got from the booklet that came with my Weber Kettle Grill a long time ago. It's excellent: 1/2 cup vegetable oil 1/3 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup red wine vinegar 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon dry mustard powder 1 minced garlic clove 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Put everything in a blender to mix well. Marinate the beef in a heavy plastic bag (anything but a metal container will do) for 4 to 24 hours. Cook on low for 6 - 8 hours, then pig out.
  11. Are shopping carts considered 'cover' or 'structure' ?
  12. That's personal preference. I like a minimum of 6' so I can tie on several different baits throughout the day and still have a decent amount to work with. Some use as little as 3'.
  13. Yeah, we have a "Dead Mobster Trophy Program" in effect here. Just wheel 'em in to the local game office in a shopping cart to have 'em weighed and certified ;D Still looking for Jimmy Hoffa....
  14. I wish New Jersey had a lifetime option, as of now they don't. I'm looking at our Fish and Wildlife booklet. They don't list any fines, but it does say two game law violations within a five year period is a minimum of two year loss of license. I know here our game wardens have the same authority as a police officer. I have not seen a game warden for over twenty years. Doesn't mean they're not out there.
  15. Do you renew online or do you get yours at any number of places (tackle store, wally world, etc.) I like renewing online. I wonder if all states have the option ?
  16. Seriously, I can see that happening. I can just picture Roland Martin holding up a bottle to the camera and saying "Son, I'm tellin' ya'll this stuff flat out gets BIT !!" as he slathers up a bait Goodbye coffee scented baits, hello BBQ sauce.
  17. That thing is a beast ! I like the part about "3 pounds of motor parts and sinkers" allegedly stuffed down it's throat. There's no way you would ever be able to pull that off. It seems record fish are like winning the lottery. Crackpots come out of the woodwork after you.
  18. Keanu Reeves.....
  19. Post your state records. Here's New Jersey. Our LMB record is over 30 years old. I highlighted some recent ones. 20. The articles in the BR library, especially the ones on light tackle. Reading posts from fishfordollars, Catt, Rolo and some of the other old fogies. They don't get caught up in the "hot" new fads, they generally give good advice. Getting the concept of structure pounded into my head. I think it was Catt who said something along the lines of "Now you're off the bank and in a boat, why do you still pound the bank the whole trip ?" That's exactly what I did years ago when I left the shore.
  21. Hey, it's got a wooden handle ! Just like my $40 Flooger Trion. I guess that about evens it up... : It is a nice looking piece for sure. Maybe after I hit the lottery next week. Certates for everyone !!!
  22. Cut me in half and count the rings.
  23. Bug spray. Matches or bic lighter stored in a ziploc bag. Copies of current fishing license, boat registration, etc.
  24. I use a tiny tipped syringe I got from a hobby shop and inject the grease into my bearings. I apply from both sides to ensure coverage. I've seen tiny bearing packers that are used by RC guys for their wheel bearings. The syringe has done ok for me.
