Because of a lack of respect. Pretty common these days. :-/ Littering a body of water is about the worst form of common douchebaggery.

Do you just let the topwater float over, or do you work it? Also what kind of retrieve slow or burn it? Fast and frantic! Find a riffle, a spot in the river where it gets shallow and the water speeds up. Follow it to the end, where it starts to drop off from inches into a foot or two of water. The water should be moving very fast and should be very rippled. Cast across this and work your bait as the current sweeps it down....KABOOM! It might take you a little bit to find the sweet spot, but if they are there, you won't miss them. I like to use poppers. Buzzbait will work, and are a little easier to use.

Most guys are going to tell you find the deepest holes, blah, blah, blah. I'm going to tell you to find the exact opposite. Get to the shallow fast water. Riffles and chutes not only provide food but something else that becomes scarce in a low warm river: dissloved oxygen. Look for 1-2 feet of heavily riffled water. Often where a riffle dumps into a hole is the way to go. Some deeper water must be nearyby. If it looks "too fast", your in business. It could be a riffle the that's as wide as the river or a small chute between islands. Throw topwater. This is probably the most exciting smallie fighing you can get. When you find the right riffles it's a complete circus. I've shown this pattern to a few guys that I fish with and they couldn't believe it. Or, you could fish jigs in the deep holes....

As far as Vck is concerned he did the crime got caught and served his time as prescribed by law. His debt is paid and now he has every right to continue on with his life and make a liveliehood for himself in his chosen career, which in no way coinsides with animals. Thats it.

Cro-cop and Nog- been there done that (when they were the best thing goin') That leaves Lesnar, who's 4-1. With wins aginst Old Man River, a lay and pray hump fest over Herring (you should rewatch what Fedor did to Heath when Heath was considered the #1 contender and Fedor was a nobody), and of course a win over Mir (still need the rubber match) Pardon me if I'm a little UNDERWHELMED by this "top copetition." : Its all business anyway. Fedor's still under a M1 contract. Besides there's good matchups in Strikeforce: Overeem, Monson, Rogers. If anything, this will give Lesnar more time to "get his weight up." That way it will be worth it when Fedor finally does come to the UFC and goes home with Lesnar's arm.

To be honest, I think Vitor is going to offer more than Banett. Fedor has made a living relying on his speed to overwhelm much larger men. Now he's the larger, slower guy. Don't forget how quick and devestating Vitor's standup is. I'm actually more intrigued by this new match-up.

I think the better question is which one won't work? I like Storm Mid and Subwarts, and Rapala DT-4s My buddy swears by the Shad Rap, SR-5. Pick one that is going to suit the depths your going to be fishing. Since your wading, shallow to mid-depth running cranks will be your best bets.

Use a standard tubejig head, and start hooking fish. Your going to lose fish t-rigging tubes, no matter how good you get at it. On a jighead you have to really mess up to miss a hookset. A good quick snap of wrists is all it will take Also, a common misconception is that you'll loose more tubes on a jighead than when you t-rig. The exposed hook is rarely the cause of getting hung up, it's usually the tube getting wedged between rocks thats the cause. In fact, when fishing rocks, the bullet weight of a t-rig will wedge up alot more than an internal jighead. The only time I use a t-rigged tube is when I'm fishing heavy wood. I mean VERY heavy. Thats when the exposed hook of a jighead will get you in hang up hell.

All kidding aside, before you set your budget, I'd highly reccomend allocating much more money for the rod than the reel, especially if you want a spinning set up. A reel is nothing more than a device for line management. The rod casts the lure, feels the bite, and fights the fish. Pick the right rod for the lure/type of fishing your going to do (which by the way, you should tell us as well) and you could duct tape a Snoopy reel to it slam fish till the cows come home. However if your talking casting reels, then you might want to shift a little bit more money back towards the reel, especially if your just learning on one. Backlashes suck.

I have a 6'6" Med power, medium fast action casting that I use mainley for poppers and the occasional spinnerbait. Great rod: affordable, descent sensitevity (not that I need it for topwater) and it isn't too heavy.

Pliers and set the hook sooner.......problem solved.

The fish don't care if it rains, they're already wet. I've had killer days in the rain, and not so killer. Sometimes the pressure change turns them on, sometimes it turns 'em off. Personally, I'll want stable weather, whatever it is. Doen't matter if it's bright and sunny or cloudy and rainy: as long as it's been like that for 4-5 days or more, I know I'm slammin' fish.

The same colors that work for LM will work for SM. I, for one, think alot of anglers put WAY too much emphasis on color. Go with natural colors (greens, browns, black, white, silver) and you'll be fine.

How the state of NY defines the catch and release season: Catch and release means catching and immediately releasing the caught fish without harm. Measuring, weighing and photographing of the fish are permitted as long as the fish is not removed from the water for an extended period or handled in a manner that could cause it harm. Fish may not be placed in a bucket, tub, livewell, on a string or any other holding device. So unfortunately, there's nothing you could do but weigh it and take a picture. But if you do break the record in season: pictures, certified scale with witnesses, take it to the state biologist, fill in the paper work and get it notarized and send it in. My buddy just went through this process with a fallfish and is now waiting to hear the final word. Its a PITA, and NY state is exactly lightning fast.....
