Shimano Citica E Upgrade?
My Citica D casted very similar to my Curado D in terms of smoothness and distance. I assumed the Citica E would do the same compared to the Curado E. In my experience that's just not the case. There is a big gap between the two.

red eye shad
It's no secret that spring (pre-spawn) is a great time for lipless cranks. We expect and accept questions about frogs in the summer, so why not lipless cranks in the spring? Folks are making too much of the influence of the Classic IMO.

Shimano Citica E Upgrade?
Has anyone replaced the Citica E spool with a Curado E spool? I've read that this makes a tremendous difference in the castability of this reel. Just wanted to see if anyone here has personal experience with this upgrade. Are there any other upgrades you recommend to improve performance?

Glove reccomendations: Warm, dry, flexible, and light weight.
On an episode of Classic Patterns with Alton Jones I saw recently, he recommended using Dry Joy golf gloves. Probably similar to these... http://www.footjoy.com/catalog/productview.asp?c=46

No I have not. What style of beer is it? Good stuff?

Favorite Beer
Took the words right off of my keyboard Uncle Leo... Chimay is like silk. In the end, though, I like so many beers, my two favorite are: cold or free... and if you can get both, then life is truly good! So I bought a small bottle of the Chimay (Blue Label) to try tonight based on the recommendations from this thread. It's pretty good and probably excellent if you like that style of ale. It was much smoother and easier to drink than the Scottish Ale I mentioned previously, but by 2/3 of the bottle (11.2 oz) I was done with it. I guess the malts just wear me down. I would say it's an excellent sipping beer.

Womens USA vs Canada Gold Medal
Canada is a good place to be from.

USA vs. Canada hockey
How many times have you seen knee to knee hits from him? I only know of two and neither looked intentional. In both instances he was going for a legal hit and the players changed courses to avoid hits and their knees collided. Like you said, he has just as much chance of getting hurt himself when something like that happens. It's a fast game and decisions are made in fractions of seconds. I don't think either hit was intentional.

USA vs. Canada hockey
Alex is not only the best player in the world, but he is probably one of the best hitters too. He is far from one of the best hitters. Look through compilations of his best hits and you will see a lot of the time he hits when the players back is turned and that player is defenseless (which should be boarding calls) or he leaves the ice and jumps into people (which should be boarding or charges). And to top it off he wears a visor so he can't be that tough, he is a punk in my book. If he played ten years ago before hockey really changed he would be getting beat up. Nothing illegal about hitting someone in the back so long as they are close to the boards when you do it. Boarding is only called when the person is off the boards by several feet and they fall and hit their head against the boards. You clearly don't like Ovechkin for other reasons and are definetly reaching on this one. I'm sure if he played for your team you'd have a different opinion. He's flashy but not dirty.

Favorite Beer
O man. Wanna send a few bottles of that homebrew to Columbia? I havent had a chance to try the 90 minute from Dogfish Head, but I had the 60 Minute. Good stuff. Let us know how the clone goes. We'll see how it turns out first. I tasted it when I was transferring from primary to secondary fermenter and I liked it a lot. It's dry hopping in the secondary so that should add some good aromas to it. I'm going to bottle on Monday and then it needs 3-4 weeks in the bottle to carbonate before it's reaches optimal drinkability. If it turns out good, maybe we can work something out. I'll PM you. BTW, if you have Harris Teeter or Total Wine down there, they may carry it. I've found it in both places.

your favorite soft plastic jerk bait??
I've tried and like the Tru-Tungsten Depth Shad. It doesn't seem that it's caught on with many anglers, but I did good with them last year. I hope they continue to produce them. http://www.tru-tungsten.com/new-for-2009-the-depth-shad.html

Gen 2 Dobyns 704CB Glass
The rod is fiberglass so it may seem whippy compared to graphite but maybe not as whippy as some of the other fiberglass sticks out there. It's a little difficult to understand what your tolerance for whippiness is. I would get the graphite version if you are concerned with the tip being too soft. I have the 705CB glass fast and though I haven't fished it yet, it's seems to be exactly what I was looking for.

Favorite Beer
My favortie is by far Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA. I actually have a clone of this beer in the secondary fermenter right now! I prefer hoppy beers. Worst I've had is Old Chub which is a Scottish Style Ale. I cringed every time I took a sip. Too malty for me.

Could I use this as a Flipping/pitching rod?
If the Ugly Stick is your only option for pitching/flipping, don't pitch or flip. Save your money and get a better combo next year.

Chat with me about Lunkerville Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 8pm on FishBait Radio
Mike, Love the episode where you couldn't get bit on Erie and admitted to trying to fake catch a fish that your partner No Good Noel caught. I was LMAO when you said it fell in the water when you tried to put it on the hook. I guess some days no matter what you do, you just can't get bit! Great stuff! I don't count the Sheepshead btw. -Rob

Thai...?!?!?!
I must have missed something in the thread because I am somewhat suprised by this. If anyone should have been banned it should be the person who was looking for trouble to begin with. If the moderators read the posts, they would see that everyone was having a decent conversation until this person got involved in the thread. I don't understand but I guess I don't have to.

Well, another NOVA thread
I'll be out on the river for the first time this year on Sunday. We'll probalby start up north and possibly work our way down south.

Costa 580
I read a post recently where someone at Costa recommended the Silver Mirror for all around freshwater. I guess silver mirror is a good compromise between Green Mirror and Copper if you're having a hard time deciding. Any way you go, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Trying to get a boat in a garage
Doesn't look like the same house to me. Driveways aren't close enough together and I don't see a sidewalk. That driveway is still pretty darn steep though.

Does anyone know when the next Tacklewarehouse sale is?
Do they normally announce the sales ahead of time? I wouldn't think so but maybe I'm wrong.

Best Swimbait $40 budget
To me a swimbait doesn't have to have action imparted on it with the rod to give it a swimming motion. If you consider a Lunker Punker a swimbait, I guess you would have to consider a Zara Spook a swimbait too. I don't think being big and thrown on a swimbait rod makes it a swimbait IMO.
