  1. In response to the slough near wallace marine park, where exactly is it? As for the umpqua river, I used to live on it and think it is the best smallmouth fishing in the northwest! Smallies fight harder than anywhere I have fished. I just wish it wasn't that long of a drive.
  2. Thanks for the help, im gonna give it a shot. Is the place you are referring to the wildlife refuge near the train tressels on river road?
  3. Thanks Guys! I have fished hagg and all over Wallace Marine Park, but didn't find a slough. I am in a bass club in Wa, so I have fished a lot of places, just not down here in Salem. I've also fished the St.Louis Ponds too, only caught 2 small largemouths though. I was hopin for some good spots on the Willamette....any ideas?
  4. Hey All~ I'm relatively new to the Salem area and am a avid bass fisherman. What are some good lakes near here? I don't have a boat so will be fishing off the bank for the most part. Also, have hit the Willamette a couple times with no prevail, where are some good spots? I'd appreciate some info! Thanks
  5. Hey All~ I am currently involved in a bass club and am kickin the idea of tryin to fish a pro-am circuit or anything at the next level. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks a bunch.
  6. O.K. Bassers~ Im thinkin about goin fishing at Hagg Lake and was wondering if anyone knew what the bass are doing in Henry Hagg lake in the month of May. So if anyone is familiar with the lake, I would love to know! When do they typically start the spawn at this particular lake? Is the water level high or low? Is the d**n a good area this time of the year or should I focus on the flats? What is the clarity of the water? Any other mans wisdom would be much appreciated!! Thanks a bunch!!
  7. Hey guys~ First of all, I would just like to thank everyone for their responses. It seems to me most everyone has agreed with the old man as for the Z20 instead of the Tr 20x. Again, I really appreciate the responses, but would like to know why you feel this way. What are the pro's and the con's of each? What makes a Ranger better, or a Triton better? Since we compete in club tourney's, well we try to, we do fish both big rough water and some smaller water as well. So again, would spending the extra money for that 7" be a good investment? If so, why? If not, why? Thank you all again for your time, and please keep posting!!
  8. Hey guys~ My dad is looking to buy a new bass boat. I think he's decided on ranger, a Z20 to be exact, and agree with the decision based on consumer reports; but is triton a better deal? Is their that much difference in the two? I hear triton is faster, but ranger is more stable and has better fishability (quieter b-cuz hollow spaces are filled with foam). Also, 20 or 21'? Is there really that much difference in 7"? If so, what are they? I've looked at both layouts, and seems to me the only difference is extra rod storage in the center of the Z21. I would love to hear everyone's input on this, so do post!! Thanks
  9. Thanks for that in depth report!! Exactly what I was looking for!!
  10. I appreciate the reply Glenn! Unfortunately I don't have the chance to go to potholes instead, because the tourney i fish in is at Moses. I do have a tournament later on in the more productive season at potholes. I am new to the area so I need all the help I can get!!! Thanks again, Blind Basser
  11. I'm lookin to head over to Moses Lake in the middle of April for some bass fishing, hear its a great lake and was just wondering if anyone could share their wisdom with me. It would be greatly appreciated!! -What are the bass doing this time of the year? -Where should I focus on the lake? -What are hot lures for the lake? ~Oregon Basser
