strike king red eye shad finish problems?
If any of you guys have any crankbaits with trashed finishes and don't use them anymore, let me know. I'll either buy them from you or I can refinish them for you.

Backwards crankbait
Maybe get a super short shank treble for the belly and clip off the downward pointing hook on the rear treble. If that doesn't work you may just have to go with the belly hook only.

How hot is the sexy shad color?.....
Do you have Blueback Herring or Threadfin Shad in your waters? Do you think "sexy" helps the bait catch more fish? Would you have more confidence in a crankbait in a "sexy shad" color pattern? If you answered yes to any of these questions then go for it! Just because there's alot of chatter about a bait and/or color doesn't mean it's going to catch more fish for everyone.

Strike King Sexy Sunfish?
Sexy this, Sexy that.....blah, blah. Talk about an over-used "name" just to make 'em sell. Good grief! It's Tennessee shad with little stripes! If you like it, try it. It's all about confidence.

sinking spros
Try to get the water out and then fix the crack by brushing on some 2 part epoxy like Devcon 2 ton. Use a cheap little kids paint brush with synthetic bristles. One or two seperate applications. 1-2 days for full cure.

Crankbait ID?
You may still be right. Looking at the lip on your 600, it looks identical to mine. The bevel on the front edge, the shape, and the ball bearing in the underside are all the same. The body shape looks the same too. Maybe at some point they just did the eyes different.

Crankbait ID?
You think so? I didn't think they made any with that little beady eye molded into the plastic and sticking out a little.

Crankbait ID?
What make/model is this bait? Depth?

Swim jig
I use 1/4 and 3/8 oz. bullet type jigheads, 40# braid and a 6' 6" MH rod. I thread on a 4" single or twin tail grub to match or accent the skirt. You can work it in all the same methods as a spinner bait. I think it works better than a SB around reeds, cane or brush.

Help getting started with Lure painting
Did you do a search in here on the topic of airbrushes or paints? There are many posts in here on the subject. If you think you will stick with it, get yourself a decent airbrush right off. Cheap equipment will frustrate and deter you.

2 new pattern's...
Very nice as usual. Not a criticizm, but personally I'd leave the scales off of the belly (since craws dont have scales). JMHO

Rattles in Tube lures
Try the XPS tube rattles. They stay in the tube pretty good for me and they are cheap.

Topwater walker
Anyone use the XPS Pro series walker? Opinions? It looks similar to a Sammy. With the toothy critters we have around here I won't spend more than $8 a piece for hard baits. How is the action compared to a Zara Spook?

Matzuo hooks
Any opinions on Matzuo worm hooks? Good or bad?

Custom skirts
PM sent. I can help you with that.

Wacky rig hooks
What do you guys think of the Gamy splitshot/dropshot hook or the shiner hook for wacky rigging? Primarily for 5" senko type baits. Any other good suggestions?

New Crank Hooks
Gammy EWG trebles on the rear have worked real well for me so far. I use round bend on the front.

MG Safari prop
Looking for some feedback/opinions on this new prop before I go out and buy one. How would you compare it to the 2 and 3 blade Machette and Ninja props?

fee costs in your state
I was just wondering what fishermen in other states pay to play. Here in Wis. our fishing license is $20/yr. and boat registration is $10/yr. But this is what I am really interested in-how much are your boat launch fees at the ramp? On average ours are $7-$12 for a fishing boat. There still are some free ones, especially at lakes that are up north or waayyy away from any metro area.

Want to get into painting own cranks
I hope you have plenty of money and time to invest because it can get addicting. Just ask my wife (if she still remembers me LOL).

Looking to start the year right! Reel Questions...
I'd pick the Shimano Sedona 2500FD. As far as rods go, what choices do you have there?

Hook size for 3/4 oz. lipless
Does anybody else think that the #2 trebles on 3/4 oz. lipless are too big? I got some L.C. D-10's and 3/4oz. Redeye Shads and it seems like the #4 trebles should work ok, plus they are not so gaudy on there. Does anyone have experience with this? Any suggestions?

Painting Hooks
I agree with guitar kid. Plus if a hook breaks on a big fish you'll have the heart-ache as well. If funds are a problem for you, I'm sure there are plenty of guys on here (myself included) that have extra tackle they don't use. Might be willing to part with it for very little $.

Painting Hooks
Personally I believe red hooks are over-rated. I did not notice any difference in fish hits. I used to dye mine with a product called Spike-it blade dip. It's not paint. If you cant find what you want I have plenty left over.
