Hello, I am new to the forum. I currently own a Pinnacle Scion magnesium reel and love it. They don't make them anymore so I was considering buying a Shimano Chronarch MG 50 (very simialar to the Scion). Is this reel really worth $250?
Let me tell you a little about myself to help frame the question. I am a weekend angler who only competes in a local river fishing tournament that I put on with about 10 of my friends. I fish hard however, every weekend 7 1/2 months of the year. I teach school so in the summer I fish 2 or three days a week.
I have the reel mentioned above, a 2 Cabelas Podigy reels, and 2 Cabelas Tournament ZX reels. I love the Scion and the Prodigy reels, the Tournament ZX reels feel a little cheap but are alright.
Is the Shimano worth the $250 price tag. If so, what makes it so much better? Can I expect it to last longer, cast further, etc. I know alot of you guys use there reels, so help me please.
