150 mercury high performance
Well it started right up after I squeezed the fuel bulb and choked it. The idle was low. It ran well other than that.

150 mercury high performance
On saturday I was running down the lake and all of a sudden it was like I cut the key off. The just shut down. I had a hard time getting it started again. I had to choke it for it to start up. I noticed the motor did not seem to want to idle at a normal rpm. When I got it started it ran like a champ. Any suggestions?

wiring for trolling motor
I think I found my problem. I bought a Martinex XPS from Bass Pro Shops 3 bank onboard charger. I do not have a jumper wire to make 24 volts. I have two postives and two negtives going to the receptable in the front of the boat. When the onboard charger is connected it blows a fuse. I disconnected the leads from my trolling motor batteries and did not blow a fuse. Has anyone had problems like this in the past.

wiring for trolling motor
I recently bought a Nitro bass boat. The problem I am having is trying to get 24 volts from my batteries to the trolling motor. I have to two postives and two negtives which are connected to the batteries. One postive is red and the other is orange. Both negtives are black. I was told by Bass Tracker people I did not need a jumper since I had a four wire system. I have swapped the cable around but have not found the soloution yet. I have checked the fuses, batteries are new. I am checking voltage with a voltage meter and it is reading 12 volts regardless of what I do. Any suggestions?

I need a new boat
Yes sir I bought a Procraft back in 1977 and it was wonderful. Procraft had just started making these I believe. I finally sold it back in 2005. There was nothing wrong with it other it an old boat. I had a 85 Mercury on it and many good times were had in that boat. I now own a Nitro 18 foot with 150 Mercury and I am enjoying this boat also. You can not go wrong with either boat. I hope this helps a little.

buyin a good boat for not so much money
Something you may want to consider, you get what you pay for, and be sure the boat will fullfill your needs.

Transom trouble
I had 16 ft. Procraft a few years back and I was told the transom was weak. A dealer installed an alumiumn plate on the transom and he said I could get a few more years out of it. He recommended that I use a motor totor or something to support the transom. The cost was like $800.00. You may want to try that and see if it will work for you.

Bill Dance's Incredible Crankbait TIP!!!!!
People can take all the pot shots at Bill Dance they want. Please remember who was the trail blazer in bass fishing. Remember who first started making a living off of fishing. Anybody who went from selling furniture to catching fish for a living is ok with me. Some of these hot shots who make fools of themselves when the camera is rolling should be thankful for what Bill, Roland and Ray Scott did for fishing. Thank you Bill, Roland and Ray.

in dash lowrance flasher
I recently bought a Nitro bass boat and it has a Lowrance flasher in the dash with a sensitivy knob on the dash. Should the flasher come on when I start the motor or does it have a switch to turn it on? I understand the sensitivy knob is for adjusting but I do not know how it operates. Help me if you can. Thanks

What is the best outboard in terms of reliability and cost of ownership?
I have run Mercury and Johnson-Evinrude. I have had good success out of all of them. I know there are problem which arise sometimes. Taking care of the outboard and servicing it on a regular basis extends the life. We all have our favorites and depending on who you talk to is the best motor.

Problems with 150 Johnson throttling up?
I have 150 johnson and I have had the carburetors rebuilt, changed the plugs, fuel line, checked the filter on my gas line and have come to no answer. What is going is the boats starts easy and idles fine. When throttle up it seems like it is running at half throttle even through you have the throttle wide open. Then all of a sudden it opens up and runs like a champ. Occassionaly it might start to lose power and it like it is starving for fuel. I have checked everything but the fuel pump. Help me please.

1994 Nitro 18 foot
The boat does not look like a 94 model. It looks as good as one on the showroom floor. The boat has had limited use and serviced yearly. The hull looks like your dining room floor.

1994 Nitro 18 foot
How many Nitro boat owners are happy with their boats. Need your help. I am looking at a 1994 Nitro 18 ft. 150 Mercury. It is in great condition. Owner wants $8,000.00. I think I can buy it for $7,000.00. It has been garage kept and covered. Let me know what you think. Thanks

newbie
Welcome to the Wide World of Fishing! I would suggest if you are not a member of a local bass club join and fish as much as you can. Listen Listen to the old timers and ask questions. Join Bass Anglers Sports Society and read their magazines. Remember if you do not catch a fish you must ask this question of yourself. How much fun did I have. Best of luck and keep that lure wet.
