Well just so you all know I went fishing while I was in Florida this past week. I went on Thursday morning, got to Turkey Lake about 6:45. I fished until 11:00 & caught 4 Large mouth bass, largest one being a hefty 1.5lbs. Water temp was between 85/86 degrees deepest water I could find was 15 ft deep. Saw what appeared to be some good size fish on the fish finder, but never had the first bump from them. I was using a watermelon seed red flake fluke at first. That what the guy at the landing suggested & gave me to try. I had no luck at all with them. After a hour I changed over to a watermelon seed trick worm & on my forth cast boated my first bass, it didnt weigh a pound. I caught two more small ones off the trick worm over the next 2 1/2 hours. However during that time I kept going after those larger fish I had found in a 15 foot hole near a fish attractor . I kept running a CNR08 Rusty Crawdad down through the Hydrilla & water ever that other weed is in that lake. Just ripping it through hoping to get a reaction bite. Needless to say it never happened. About 20 mins till 11 all heck broke loose, a area about the size of two football fields started boiling with large mouth bass busting the top of the water. I was a good 200 yards away with only a trolling motor to get me to the action, I finally got there just in time to catch my trophy Florida Large Mouth Bass, all 1.5 lbs of him. I caught him on a Strike King Crank bait Series 4 Sexy Shad color. Kept throwing it until 5 till 11 but never got any more takers. Oh well at least I wasn't skunked.

Any Lake I see I can fish?? Thats one of my problems, I dont want to go & fish somewhere Im not suppose to. Thinking about going to Turkey Lake, but not real sure yet.. Thanks again for any help.

Coming down from SC on the 7th & will be around Kissimmee & Orlando area until the 13th.. Looking to do some fishing at least one day while Im in Florida.. Could any one point me in the direction of a lake close to that area that I could get some action from the bank? Also could anyone give me a idea of what Florida Bass are hitting this time of year?? Lastly I want to take the family to a beach on the Gulf side of Florida for a little fun, any suggestions that will not have us driving half a day to get to? Thanks in advance on all advise it is appreciated.

Hey everyone, Im going with a friend to Lake Hartwell or Lake Murray Saturday. Was wondering if any of you guys have been to either of these lakes recently. If so could you please give me a report as to how you did? How many did you catch? What were you using to catch fish? Also where did you put in at, & what area of the lake did you fish? Also were the fish caught on points, secondary points, creek channels, back of coves? Last what was the water temp where you were fishing? Had a friend tell me Murray was already up to 70 degrees, I find that hard to believe but I guess it could be true. Thanks in advance to every one that helps me out, I appreciate it.

This is part of the reason places get shut down! I disagree 100%. Places get shut down because people trash them & take every thing they catch. If someone fishes & takes care of the places they fish & those places get shut down, then the owners are just butt holes.

Well you tried it the right way, so now you just go fish it anyway. Thats the very reason i dont ask, 99.9% of the time they will say no. With good reason in most cases. Sorry people ruin it for all the respectable people in this world. They leave trash every where & keep every thing they can catch. If you get caught, then thats when you ask & tell them you didnt know who to ask. Doing it this way, you at least get some fishing in. Who knows, before they run you off you may even catch some fish.

Please tell me you caught some fish while staying that close to the infested waters of Disney.

Ahhhh I see, I didnt know this board was limited to just one species of bass. Thanks for the info. I will change my question then.. Anyone From SC have reports on Black Bass in Hartwell, Russell, Clark Hill, Greenwood, or Murry?

Can I bring my own boat & fish Stick Marsh?? Do I have to hire a guide? Is this lake so big that a guide is needed? Bienville looks very good as well but I see they will not allow you to fish with out a guide. I would like for my son & myself to be able to do this together & spend some good ole' quality time on the water catching bucket mouths. Thanks everybody for your input so far. Hello all I am from SC & looking for a GREAT place to do some trophy Large Mouth Bass fishing in Fla. I would prefer it to be a private lake with a GREAT history of having lots of big bass & plenty of satisfied customers. After all I will be coming from SC so I would like to actually CATCH some fish lol. Any help would be awesome & appreciated very much. Thanks in advance.
