me and my bro went fishing down at the powhatan lakes today for 1st time since they have been refilled and dam fixed. We only went for about 1hr or so bf i had to work and caught 3-4 bass nothin with any size but good sign that the lakes are making a come back. I live right down rd from them so glad to see my local hole is back! It was nothing to go down there one eveing and land handfull of 4-5 pounders outa there bf dams gave way. i missed it and glad there back and only about 1mi from my house!

i went on sat for lil while and didnt do much. Even though it was in the 70's water temp was still in low 40's. Top side of lake was a bit murky and bite was slow. Going to go again end of march and hope water temp start to come up.

cool man thanks for the info!! I think there gonna have it march 14th and from what i understand you can sign up day of tourney bf launch. Im hearing entry fees are $80 per boat and $70 if you prepay. I know someone that is trying to get me exact details on this tourney as he lives in brandermill area and guess they send out flyers with all info. You park at sunday park and they will give you parking pass for the day to park there. I think last year they had like over 60 anglers show up but electric only. I think 1st place pay out was just over $500 and 2nd took like $350. They also pay out for "Big fish". Im waiting on more info / rules myself. Ill hit you up with details as soon as i know. Thanks!!

I know there about to have there annual tourney there in mid march. Only electric motors allowed. Located in chesterfield in the Brandermill area. Has anyone ever fished this lake and can tell me anything about it as im going to try to make it to the tourney this year and havent fished that lake since i was a kid on the banks ;D so dont know much bout it!

I live in Powhatan,va just west of richmond. I fish alot of local lakes/rivers. I fish James river for smallies and others are Powhatan lakes, Amelia Lake,Briery Creek, Lake chesdin, Lake Anna , nottaway lake, swift creek resevour, Chicahomny. I fish mostly in central VA area.

Briery Creek in VA only way to go....go get you one of those 10 pounders!! 8-)

what could i use to make the hole for base mount?? and what to use to mount it bc i wont have access to underside of mount / bench seat to put a nut on bolt so dont pull through. Do i use some kinda screw?? i dont want the screws/bolt or whatever i use to pull out when setting the hook on a nice one lol ;D

Im getting a modified V 14ft alumacraft jon boat and was trying to plan out the seats. Im goin to eventually put a front deck on boat also. Just curious on how i go by installing the base?? Is it good idea to just mount base to aluminum bench seat?? whats best mounting method to where seat will be sturdy and wont come unmounted? Thanks!
