  1. Any of you two gentlemen have any advice or helpful info for fishing Douglas? Do yall have any clue what baits, where to fish, etc..... Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  2. There's a BPS in my area where I recruit out of, plus it's only 30 min from my house. We also have a Gander MNT only 10 min from my house. Gander MNT doesn't even come close to BPS----that's my humble opinion though. I lve that store (BPS) and have gotten allot of good deals there!
  3. Now this is what I'm talking about!!!!!! This site is the @#$%!!!! Heck, in only 2 days of me being here, I have to admitt that this is the best fishing; heck outdoors forum on the NET!!!!! Thank you to all!!!!
  4. Welcome!!!! I'm new here (been here like 2 days) and I am addicted to this place like a crackhead!!!! My wife usually gives me down the road for spending soooo much time on the NET, but she loves to Bass fish, I'm teaching her, and I just simply tell her that I'm on here to learn as much as I can to ensure that we both catch some fish when we are at the Lake!!!! ;D Got to let her know that I'm making a sacrifice by engulfing myself into my studies for the both of us!!! ;D
  5. I don't get emarassed with it, I'd rather set the hook and nothing be there, than to 2d guess myself out of hooking a Bass! Trust me, I've had my fair share of texas rigged plastics flying back at me like a missle!!!! ;D ;D ;D Got cracked in the shin by on as a matter of fact. I quickly learned to sweep the hook set when the bait was close to the boat!!! ;D
  6. Welcome!!!!! 8-)
  7. Welcome Aboard, I'm also an FNG to this forum!!!!
  8. Is there anyone in here that fishes the Lakes of East TN? Particularly Douglas, Cherokee, Fort Loudon, and Norris Lakes?
  9. Thanks smlbass!!! I'll let you gents know how it worked out for me after I hit the lake this weekend!!!
  10. UHHHHH...... let me dig in my tackle box...... OK, I've got Finesse Football Head w/ spiral Lock hooks from Bass Pro and I'm using ZOOM Super Salt Plus Finesse worms that are 5".
  11. I'm by no means a Bass Fishing expert, however, I do know a few things about spinnerbaits. Spinners are my bread and butter baits. I fish them in any condition. On clear water and sunny days, I'll use a Spinner with silver willow leaf blades and a clear mettalic skirt. On cloudy days in clear water I'll use a white spinner with white painted willow leaf blades. In stained I'll continue using the white spinner. In muddy water, I'll switch to a colorado blade (gold in color) and a chartruse or blaze orange skirt. These selections has always worked for me and I caught my bigggest bass ever on a white spinner while fishing on a clear lake on a calm, cloudy day. By no means am I saying that this is the only way to go about using spinners, again, this is what has worked for me. I got to give credit to Kevin Van Dam's DVD titled Spinner Bait Techniques that I purchased from BPS, that's what gave me my knowledge on the subject. Hope this helps in some form or fashion.
  12. Alright folks; I will be, for the first time, fishing with a shaky head worm. I know (I think) how to properly rig it up; I was wondering though if any of you folks could kinda guide me through the proper rigging of and proper presentation of this bait? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
  13. I truely appreciate that!!!! Same goes for you if you're ever in TN, I can't garuntee I'll put us on some fish, but we'd give it Heck anyways!!! ;D
  14. Mine was a 5lb 2 oz Largemouth caught on a White Strike King .38 Special on Douglas Lake in East TN back in June of 2007.
  15. 5lb 2 oz Largemouth caught on Douglas Lake in June of 2007
  16. Hummm, weirdest thing caught; lets see...... well there was this one time in Thialand....Oh, wait you are talking about fish!!!! ;D I'd say it was catching an eel on a pond on base in Camp Lejeune, NC. We ended up catching allot of them. I have no clue as to what they are really called, I just know that they are eels. I cut the line and throw them back in!
  17. As far as loving the Wildcats, I really don't care about KY football--just wanted to gig the LSU fans for letting UK of all teams beat them!!!! ;D I use to be a hard core Wildcat b-ball fan while Pitino was the coach, but could care less about it now! I'd rather be on the water or out hunting some sort of critter than watching a ball game! However, LSU still got beat by UK, and yes I know, "They are the National Champions" : but they still got beat by KY!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D Just giving yall a hard time, I rooted for them to win it all this year after UK was demolished!
  18. Dang man, thank yall for the welcome wagon!!!!
  19. ;D Tell me about it! One thing he's got to keep in mind though, is Ole Dad has all the funds for his Bass Fishing endevors! ;D So he can get better than me, that's fine; just as long as he doesn't really think he's better than me or as long as he keeps it to himself! ;D ;D
  20. Thanks road warrior!!! 8-) Got a thread posted Low Budget!!!
  21. Thanks man, I appreciate it. Now as far as the LSU deal-----Go KY Wildcats!!! ;D ;D ;D
  22. Dang good idea!!!! My 8 yo son has graduated from the Zebco 33 to a spinning rod/reel combo set up for bass fishing. He's got the bass fishing bug pretty bad. He loves to cast and your idea about making his practice be a game is OUTSTANDING!!! Yep, I've definately found my new CYBER HOME!!!! ;D
  23. #1 Has got to be, without a shadow of doubt, Kevin Van Dam!!! Heck, he's taught me more from a DVD than I've ever learned anywhere else! ;D #2 would be Bill Dance; because mabey he would fall off the boat, crack his leg off the trailer hitch, loose his trolling motor in the lake, fall in the lake while trying to put a battery on the boat, have a snake fall in his lap, etc..... ;D You just can't get any funnier than that!!!!
