  3. I was given an Eagle Fishmark 480 from a friend of mine without a transducer. I was wondering if anyone has a used working transducer they would be willing to sell. Thanks Eric erau618@yahoo.com
  4. It is legal at certain lakes in Illinois.
  5. would that be in norhtern Illinois or Southern Illinois? I know a few lakes in Southern Illinois that have been HOT!
  6. Go night fishing! I caught my new PB last friday night. I have a tournemant Saturday the 16th from 6pm to 2am so we decided to go drag some 10" worms in the dark. Most of our fish came from the deep channel swings in 15-30 feet of water. My fish went 6-3 while my friend caught a 6-6. With the heat index in Southern Illinois getting over 115 degrees, night fishing seems the way to go!
  7. Personally, I would look at Craigslist and try and find a nice jon boat that already has a motor and a trailer. I own a 1636 jon boat and I would really like to have the extra width. If you ask anyone with a narrow jon boat, they would always say that they want a wider boat. If you have any way of testing a 1536 and a 1548, you will want to go with the wider boat. I have never fallen out of my boat in the 3 years that I have owned it, but I would love to have the extra width. Just my opinion Eric

I played form 12 until my senior year of high school. After that, I went to Southern Illinois, where there isn't an ice rink within 30 miles of Carbondale.
  10. NetBait B Bug in black and blue. I don't know why, but that seemed to work better then the RI Sweet Beaver last year.
  11. I totally agree. If you see any of the results from the tournaments, about 1/4 of the field doesn't catch a fish and many other teams don't do much better. From my experience, the college teams are just looking to fill jersey space with sponsors instead of practicing and getting better at fishing. I do like the fact that the college flw is allowing people to gain "big tournament" experience. I guess that this is their way to recruit people to the BFL or another FLW series, and sell their magazine and membership. To the guy in Texas who said that it is only the rich that get to fish, these kids need to get a job. I went to school full time and worked full time to pay the bills. It won't hurt any of these kids to put the beer down and work a 2nd or 3rd shift. -Eric
  12. I forgot to "get down on Friday" yesterday. :'( I want the last 2 minutes of my life back
  13. Are there any specific reasons you want to go the truck box route? I mean a cooler is already water tight and insulated... I use a cheap 48qt cooler from wally world (~$20) that I put an aerator in and it serves my needs just fine. A larger cooler would have been nice but the 48qt holds 5 bass without a problem. I thought no one would bring up the Walmart special. My cooler that Simp is talking about is a $35 cooler. It holds 5 bass (over 16 inches) no problem. I suggest keeping a bungee cord handy to keep the lid closed. You don't need anything too huge or fancy to keep fish alive. Just make sure you have a solid aerator.
  14. They stocked them in Kincaid a few years back and they shocked a 16.5 inch keeper out of there last year. I'm just glad that the muskey didn't eat all of them.
  15. I LOVE winter fishing, but I cheat and have a power plant lake about 30 minutes away. Last sunday, my partner and I caught about 14 fish over the 16" mark. Our biggest 4 went 16.75 lbs. It has been like this all winter.
