Excuse me for showing my ignorance, but do they have smallies in Florida? I have only caught largemouth bass my entire life. Well, that and pan fish and gar.

Another very important thing to remember is to keep your livewell cool. I know it has been mentioned here multiple times. The reason behind this is that there is a linear regression in the amount of oxygen in water with rising temperature. If that water gets around the high 80's there will be little to no oxygen left.

Last night I was fishing a cheap, old Wally-world frog on the top water. This thing looks like a joke; there are no front legs, the color looked completely ridiculous, and the back legs didn't even move! I really wasen't expecting much, the whole lake was dead as far as top water activity. I threw close to a grassy bank and moved the lure along the bank when *SMACK*. A 2 pounder nailed it and I actually hooked him and brought him up! Not bad for a cheap Wally-world special.

That lure didn;t work out. Granted I was just a toddler when I was duped by the infomercial, but I will NEVER forget the line twist that lure caused. Not only did it not catch fish, but it actually ruined my day of fishing. Roland, how do you live with yourself!!!??? I was about nine when they came out. I saved my allowance for 4 weeks to purchase them. I remember how excited I was when my dad called and placed the order over the phone with his credit card. First trip out I saw a monster bass that just watched it pass right in front of him without even showing interest. Put a tequila shad worm on and caught him first cast. I continued to use the lure through out the day with zero bites. I was devastated. I mean, these lures came with a video! A VIDEO! How can the not work?! :'(

The lure that really built me up, only to send my world crashing down was the Helicopter Lure.

Worms, diving crankbaits, buzz baits, poppers. Senkos, topwater cranks, and frogs on topwater are hot for me this season.
