  1. Wicked video, my son is six and i have brought him out twice. He has yet to hook into one (couple of taps on a scum frog) but just a matter of time. But it was the same case, after 20 to 30 min. his arm would get tired. So I tell him to take a water break and about 10 minutes later he is back at it or asking for something new to throw and never complained once he was bored. Just goes to show its not always about catching. Even a six year can teach you sometimes it just fun being there.
  2. I really like how it came out. But your going to have to wait til I beat mine up alittle bit before you can paint mine. Oh yeah, how many parts did you have left over after you but it together. 8-)
  3. Why have La in the central division. We are SE. Alabama, Miss., Florida, Ga. are our neighbors. We would rather be with our brothers. They have more helpful info we can use than someone in North central US. We feel like we are on a island ex. (hawaii). Please take this in to consideration. I don't mind it but I always end up in SE section lookin for helpful tips that work here in the good old state of louisiana.
  4. Just because its hot and you don't catch em back to back, doesn't mean they are not around. Deeper water and cover can provide an oasis for a few sunburnt fish. But if you still are havin trouble and can't seem to fish just the few cool hours morning and evening dont worry. Autumn is right around the corner. You can always do a little rain dance and hope for some clouds.
  5. Like the colors. It looks pretty tight. Can't wait to see complete.
  6. It would have to be marshmaster. He put me on the water and I've had the twitch ever since.
  7. Great lookin fish. Love the colors. To bad we only have few places to catch'em here in the states.
  8. the gloves are probably about 4 ounces. lol As for the fish 4lbs-ish. 8-)
  9. What a runt. lol Any size to those bass?
  10. At least someone finally caught that "one that got away". lol Nice fish and really good pic. Its what we all aim see at the end of our lines one day.
  11. cheesehead is as cheesehead does
  12. Going on a night trip here in SE La. Maybe have some pics if we catch some good ones. So check back. Just hoping the weather works with us.
  13. they ain't eaten those. they sellin dem. they get big money for em, they have a shrine in china just for this fish. Still lookin for one in the mighty mississippi. Don't think i got much of a chance but I'll let ya know.
  14. I ended up going with #8 stren my friend had layin around and its casting and reelin great. thax for the tips. I also agree p-line is worth the bang for the buck, i have #20 on my pole and i have been very pleased with it. 8-)
  15. The landscape is almost as nice as the catch. That's what i call a getaway. Nice little chunky too.
  16. I bought a cheap Quantum accurist and it has a extra switch on it. It controls the release but what does the F and the O stand for?
  17. Sure they look good but they dont bring anything new.
  18. I was wondering what line would be best for my son's pole. he has a cheap superman pole that he really likes, and the line it came with breaks with any good tug. it has a drag on it so i was thinking of maybe using an eight pound test for it. I just put some 8 lb. diameter spider wire on it and it feels really ruff so i figure maybe goin with mono. The light line is ok for perch but i want something he can handle a nice red or bass with. I would hate to see him hook a good fish only to break the line before landing it.
  19. Does it really make a difference if you line your reel in the opposite direction of the spool? After fillin my reel my friend informed me i would get more bird nest for doing it backwards, but I never had any trouble while casting during the outing. Not sayin I didn't birdnest once or twice but he did as well.
  20. This cat might do. Dont have a picture of the redfish.
  21. I work on the mighty mississippi and i can catch monster channel cat on a regular basis. The problem is i don't care for the taste compared to flatheads. I use a honey chicken bait from the local chinese lunch dump. It works like crazy for the big channel cats. Is cut bait the only way to get the big flatheads? When the river came up, I caught fish 51 lbs, 43, 38, 35, 31, 25, 23, 22, and a couple 20s in only 5 days on 2 lines. I gave them all away!!! Don't get me wrong, it was fun pulling in these big fish I just want the tasty ones.
  22. Sometimes with captain piedy_p. Ha Ha
