  1. 7.5 - 8.5 but then again what do i know??
  2. Well thanks for all the help guys. I actually went out yesterday afternoon and caught my new PB and that SOB absolutely fought like it's life depended on it. It wasn't quite 8 but it was still really good and put up a magnificent fight.
  3. The thing is he couldnt have just bought the wrong thing and the manufactorer couldn't have just accidently messed up because I had him buy 5 of the 10" and 5 of the 7.5" and they were all different colors and every package said grape red flake. It doesn't matter though because I took them out yesterday and caught a new PB along with many many many others on them so I'm content with whatever works.
  4. My friend went to Wal Mart the other day and I had him pick me up some YUM Grape Red Flake worms. I told him I wanted 7.5" and 10". When he came back, I thought he had bought two different kinds of worms. The 10" are a red color with small purple flakes in them and the 7.5" is a dark purple with red flakes. Has anyone else experienced this at all??
  5. I need a new boat badly. I have a 1996 17' Dominator by Fisher. It has a 40 hp Mercury Force which never runs. The trolling motor broke in half. The depth finder fell off while I was going down the river. The carpet is coming off the deck.. I need a new, nice boat. I'm looking at Nitro and ProCraft right now and I've compared them many times. Has anyone ever owned both boats and if so, which one was better to you??
  6. COSTA DEL MAR.... The absolute best sunglasses out in my opinion, and I've had a lot. Get Fathoms with green lenses and the water will basically disappear. I can see anything and everything in the water and I wouldn't own another pair for anything in the world... except maybe a '08 Skeeter with a 250 Optimax..
  7. Anybody live near a Gander Mountain? The one near my house has a million different crankbaits, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, and pretty much any other hard plastic you can think of. However I absolutely LOVE soft plastics like ribbontail worms, YUM dingers, flukes, etc. The Gander Mountain where I live looks about like KMart when it comes to these lures though. Do other Gander Mountains look this way?? Or just mine??
  8. I have a 40 hp Mercury Force on my boat and I've never seen another one ever. I've heard that they're supposedly one of the better motors when it comes to working regurlarly and stuff like that. Anyone out there with a Force? If so, have you had any trouble with it?
  9. Well the day has finally come where I consider myself good enough to maybe be able to place above last on the weigh in board. I'm fishing my first tournament this Saturday. Any pointers?? Maybe some small details that I might wanna look into that could really help out??
  10. Anyone ever been snagged on a log, rock, etc and done the "snapping your line" trick and actually had it work??
  11. I've never felt the extreme pleasure of reeling in an 8 pound lunker. I'm not sure why but I can promise you that it's not from the lack of hours put into fishing. Anyways, I've caught many many many 3 and 4 pounders that have all fought valiantly, and I've heard that a 8 pounder doesn't fight any harder than a good 3 or 4. Is this true?? Will I have to play an 8 differently than a 4 in order to keep him on??
  12. what is the easiest way to tell the difference between a largemouth bass and a spotted bass?
  13. So Friday nights is fishing night on the outdoor channel and this past Friday I was watching In-Fisherman. The guy on there started talking about this Stick Marsh place in Florida and how he had caught so many 8 and 9 lbers there. Where exactly is Stick Marsh located and is that the real nam of that particular lake?
  14. about how much would ya'll say that this bass weigh??
  15. What is the absolute best line to feel a bite when fishing a worm?
  16. I am debating on purchasing a 2004 Nitro 750 with a 150 Mercury EFI. Does anyone have this boat and motor? If so, how fast does that motor push it? I'm not looking to buy a speed demon, but I dont want to be outrun by pontoon boats either.
  17. I live in northeastern Alabama and largemouth fish FREQUENTLY. Every year my father and I take a trip somewhere and do something interesting. This year we were planning on going to try to catch our first smallmouths ever. Any recommendations of good smallmouth lakes that are fairly close to nother Alabama??
  18. BassMasterRob is right about those two. I also do those and they work well. You may also want to try fishing a 10" worm along the grass line. Fish it slowly and let it sink all the way.
  19. definitely definitely definitely spinnerbait
  20. I'm not sure what kind of lake you have where you fish or if the bass are any different there than they are where i fish, but on Lake Guntersville, my home lake, we dont pull the frogs out until September. You cant get many fish to hit it until the grass grows up really high. You may want to try it then some for sure.
  21. no but i will, thanks
  22. any comments on exactly how to fish a jig n pig?? techniques, colors, sizes, anything really.. but only in waters that have hydrilla and milfoil in it because thats mainly what i fish
  23. I was fishing a Rat-L-Trap and hooked into what i thought was going to be the bass of a lifetime. i pulled it out of the grass to find out it was actually a chain link fence
  24. Anybody fish Lake Guntersville in Scottboro regularly?? If so what are some good places to try??
  25. If you want an absolutely amazing and beautiful place to fish, try Lake Guntersville in Scottsboro, Al. It is the best bass fishing I have personally ever seen, and I have fished in a couple different states. The man made lake is full of hydrilla and milfoil so bass have lots of cover. Fishing these grass beds by throwing 10" ribbontail worms, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, YUM dingers, and basically any other lure will get you that 5 lber you want. I have been fishing Lake Guntersville for only about 3 years and am already hooked. the number of large fish found here are unbelievable. Me and my friends regularly catch 25-30 fish each trip with half ranging in the 3-5 pound range. If you check out the lakes tournament statistics, you'll see for yourself the number this lake produces daily. you'll need at least 25+ pounds to place in a tournament here. Anyways, I hope that you dont live so far away as to not try this lake. It is absolutely the best fish producer I have ever seen.
