How many do you catch on average?
the past month I have been averaging around 20 per day by myself but that is probably because its early summer. as it gets later i expect those numbers will drop down to 6-10

weird lures....
Check out the walking worm advertisement about halfway down the page. It's claiming the guy is holding a 19.5 and a 15 lb bass.... at least make it believable. The bigger one MIGHT be in double digits but the one on the right is a lot closer to 5. That doesn't even look a little bit realistic.. I would save my money and stick with some proven senkos.

MegaStrike
Anyone here use the fish attractant MegaStrike. I've read about it in several articles and heard of it from some people. Does it work?

Did not get him, but I am encouraged by it!
That's awesome! I had a similar even happen to me fairly recently. I've fished my laked for 2+ years and have never been able to catch anything huge. About 4 weeks ago, however, I had a MONSTER come off right at the boat. It really encouraged me to keep fishing and ever since I've seen much bigger fish landed in my boat.

Mounted or Replica
What are all the different measurements that I'll need to take to get a replica done??

Mounted or Replica
When I catch my first monster fish, which looks like I may get lucky an have it happen fairly soon because I've been catching lots of big fish this year, should I mount it or get a replica? I'm sure all the environmentally friendly people will say replica but I'm talking as far as looks which one is the best? Can the taxidermists make a replica look just as good as a real mount??

Battery Charger
My battery charger for my boat can charge at either 2, 10, or 15 amps. What is the difference in these and which should I be charging my battery with?

Had a pretty good day
Nice! Dontcha just love that feeling coming off the water!! You get your boat out and you just sit in the truck before you drive off and you think to yourself "man, I absolutley wore them peckerheads out!!!!" I love that feeling!

Are the big fish still here.
Well keeping them is part of your problem. Can't catch fish that aren't there. Try throwing something else for a change. Instead of a buzzbait early, throw maybe a Pop-R. Instead of a Texas rigged worm, maybe throw a senko or a fluke. Instead of a spinnerbait, throw maybe a crankbait. If day after day you ate the same thing and it hurt your stomach, you'd stop eating it. Fish are the same way.

How "hardcore" is your fishing?
A buddy and I were on our way to the boat ramp in his truck and boat a few years back. While driving, we heard a loud thud and felt our truck shake. We looked behind us to find that his ball and hitch had broken off and our boat was sitting in the middle of the road, with tackle, poles, life vests, drinks, and everything else strown everywhere... We laughed, figured a way to rig it back up to the truck, and went fishin anyways..

Rubber worm advice
I fish a 10" ribbontail worm with a bullet weight on it and I have a ton of hydrilla and milfoil in my lake. The weight lets the worm sink deep down in the grass where the big boys hide. Yes, you get grass on it from time to time but that's worth the fish I pull out.

not quite a toad... but he felt good
Atta boy bch_2970.. finally somebody nailed it. According to the Berkley 50lb scale, it went 5lbs 1oz.. When I hooked him I thought he was double digits because he fought like a true champ. But he, or she I assume here, was only 5.

how to read a depth finder
Okay this may seem like a stupid question but I'll ask it anyways. On a depth finder like the one below, how do you read it?? For example, the picture shows the riverbed being higher on the left than on the right. I don't understand how that's oriented with my boat. If I see that on my depth finder, does that mean that it's shallow to my left and deep on my right? Or is it facing the other way (sort of like the old Mario on Nintendo) and it's shallow behind me and deep in front of me?? Also, How do you tell what's grass and what's a fish??

Learning to fish on your own
I did everything on my own. From buying random lures that looked good to going out on my own. I had so little a clue when i first started that I would just close my eyes, start driving on the water, and randomly cut the motor off. I'd fish wherever I had landed. I dont advise this as it's very dangerous. However, the best advice I can give you is practice makes perfect. Another tip is ask lots of questions on here, as there are some very smart people here.

difference in motors
Okay lets say I have an 18' Triton.. Let's say I have 2 motors to choose from. Let's say a 150 Mercury EFI and a 150 Mercury ProXS OptiMax... How much more powerful is the OptiMax??

How's this for FUGLY?
I'd fish the hell out of it...

Fishing Hyrdrilla
I fish Guntersville Lake in Alabama and hydrilla and milfoil are all it is. You hear people fishing rock piles and stumps and this and that but we have nothing but grass so I can give you lots of tips. First thing, if its windy, white and chartruese spinnerbaits are deadly. Reel them right at the top of the grass, amost let the bottom of the spinnerbait brush the tops of it. Secondly, try a senko. Run it along the top of the grass as well. Finally, drop a jig and pig off in the holes in the grass and hang on. I love fishing grass and have caught so many fish outta there. As it gets later in the day, try running a buzzbait where the grass comes to about a foot or two below the water.

night time bass fishin
my buddy caught a good one using a buzzbait at night. he said he couldnt see it coming along he just heard a big splash and hoped it was on his buzzbait so he set the hook and got him in.
