  1. Junebug Redbug Cotton Candy Watermelon Candy White (floating worms, Dingers, Flukes)
  2. Zoom Finesse worm-cotton candy Zoom Ol' Monster-junebug Yum 10" ribbontail and Rage Tail Thumber-redbug Bass Pro Squirmin' Worm 6"-Junebug Yum Dinger-white.
  3. One thing to also try is stopping your retrieve and let your jerkbait float up to the surface (if you're using a floating model). I've had some days when they would follow it but not strike. I stop my retrieve, the bass follow it the the surface and hit it as soon as my jerkbait breaks the surface.
  4. It was a toss up between U2 and Nickleback but I voted U2. To me they're overrated. As for Kiss, if it wasn't for their live show they wouldn't have made it past the '70's. They do put on a heck of a show live.
  5. Kiss in 1996 on their reunion tour.
  6. Stumbled across this this morning, looks like they have some new rods too. They have some of the same features as Abu/Pflueger/Bass Pro Shops. I'd guess they roll of the same lines. Always cool when new stuff comes out. http://www.lews.com/reels.htm
  7. Big Bang Theory is also one of my DVR recorded shows. Another one I record is Billy the Exterminator, anybody watch that?
  8. I don't think they truly knew they were going to run into danger. I bet a lot of anglers here fish Falcon and they go into Mexico's side without much worry. I agree they need to broadcast this more in America, might warn people who really don't know exactly how bad it is down there. When interviewed on the Today Show, the wife stated they were aware of the pirates and if I recall correctly they knew they had crossed the border. She said the pirates approached her as she tried to pull her husbands body onto her jet ski and pointed a gun at her, then left. If true, she is extremely lucky. It is truly sad, but IF they really knew the dangers they showed poor judgement.
  9. The original floater size F11 in silver/black is one of my favorites. I use it in clear water over shallow vegetation. It doesn't dive as deep as some jerkbaits and it floats up quickly. I also like it in clear water because it has no rattles.
  10. My favorite is still the original Halloween from the '70's. It's kind of a ritual with me and my wife, I set the DVR and record all the horror movies in October and we watch them all month long. I'm also a big fan of the old black and white Frankentein, Dracula, and Wolf Man movies.
  11. I've got the 3rd episode on DVR, I'll probably watch it tonight. So far it seems pretty good. I'm a House fan too but the "new, happy" House is a little wierd. I'm with you on the DVR, my wife and I joke about how did we ever watch TV without it.
  12. If you're considering rods, have you used a Bass Pro Shops rod with the power hump? To, me the Carbonlite rod is much more comfortable to hold. All my rods were Bass Pro Shops for several years, and I didn't realize how big the power hump was until I started using other rods. The Carbonlite I have is the 6'9" MH Ex-fast. I use it for T-rigs, light jigs and occasional spinnerbaits and the sensitivity is great.
  13. Some crankbaits come through wood better than others, but remember to use your rod to bring it through, not your reel. When you feel your line coming over a limb or other cover, stop reeling and using your rod to "finesse" it through. It will reduce your hang-ups.
  14. I fish one lake that is super clear. Visibility is 10-15 ft. I do pretty well with a split shot rig with a Zoom finesse worm. Also, try banging square bill crankbaits on the timber. A lot grass may call for a frog or even a buzzbait if you can get it through the grass. Jerkbaits are also a good choice, fish 'em fast and erratic to trigger a reaction bite.
  15. I was razzin' fishfordollars since he asked me if I had one I didn't like I could send it to him.
  16. Same here, I've never used a JM but I really like my Carbonlite reel. I'm hoping they come out with a 7:1 gear ratio next year.
  17. If I buy one, that's where I'll get it at. I found one (new) a while back for $300 shipped. I can't remember the last time I paid full price for a rod or reel.
  18. I don't have one yet, I'm thinkin' about it though. That's a lot of cash for a reel, but once the monkey latches on, he's hard to shake. If I get one and don't like it I'll send it to you for free, but the shipping will cost you about 370 bucks ;D
  19. Best answer so far! I'm a various lure kinda guy ;D
  20. Thanks for the replies. I wasn't worried too much about line capacity. I agree most reel don't need that much line. A lot of the reviews of the reel had talked more about using it for lighter stuff so I was curious.
  21. Just curious what Core 50 owners use them for. Line capacity is listed as 105yds/10lb and 85yds/12lb test. I was wondering if folks were mostly using them for lighter stuff or as an "all purpose" reel.
  22. I had Microsoft Live One Care until they ended it. Then I switched to Microsoft Security Essentials. I just uninstalled it last night. Ever since I switched to Essentials, my computer would lock up frequently. It was like it was constanly scanning and updating even though I only had it set to scan and update once a week. I installed Panda (free version) last night and so far no lock ups, so I think it was Essentials. Edit: I think it worked fine as far as security. I run Malwarebytes scans from time to time and it didn't pick up anything. Here's a link to some reviews of free antivirus downloads. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2356509,00.asp
  23. I got two words for ya. Get a new fishing partner! Seriously though, I can tolerate a lot of things ignorance, and hard heads, (me, and me sometimes), but stuff like this I cain't and won't take. And when I say ignorance, I'm saying lack of knowledge, not dumbas$. He probably ain't doing any of this on purpose either, is he? That'd fall under being a richard, lol. Anyway, good luck finding another partner. Steve I don't think he's doing it on purpose, he's just oblivious to some things. I've seen him leave his tacklebox out in the rain and dump the water out of it and be ready to go. He doesn't take care of his equipment (fishing, house, truck, etc.) so it never occurs to him that I may want to take care of mine. He's called the last two weekends and I've made excuses and went by myself. I don't get to go as much lately as I used to so it's just not worth the trouble. The last time we went it was after we both got off work. I was actually looking forward to it getting dark so the trip would be over. That's bad, when you can't wait to get off the water ;D
  24. I fish with this one guy sometimes and we usually fish small lakes and creeks. I have an 8 foot pond prowler type boat. This guy brings 7 or 8 combos, a big tackle bag, and a big Igloo cooler. When I fish with him out of this boat I usually only bring 3 or 4 combos. Since he has so many, he'll start laying his combo's on top of mine since he doesn't have enough room for his. I have to get him to pick his rods up so I can get to mine when I change. The seats are removable, I usually stand but he likes me to bring a seat for him, which he only uses about 25% of the time. So he has to push all his gear forward toward me so he has enough room to stand. He routinely cast way up ahead of me. Sometimes he'll cast up ahead on the right side of the boat so I can't cast to the right nor can I cast to the left with catching his rod or line on my backcast. I have to watch constantly to make sure he's not stepping on my rods or putting his cooler on top of my rods. I also have a Nitro boat. He'll find the biggest mud hole to walk through before he gets in, tracking mud all over the carpet. He never hooks his lures to his rods when he changes to a different rod so he's got 7 or 8 lures dangling free. So they end up stuck in the carpet. He's taken several big chunks of paint out of the outboard where's he's hit with lures when he casts. I've pointed out these things numerous times but he doesn't get it. I think our fishing days are about numbered. He's a good guy, but fishing with him is rough.
  25. Two on, four off. I do have a Quantum Catalyst that I removed some of the brake tabs. Now instead of 3, 6, or 9 brakes I have 1,2 or 3.
