koppers frog?
I believe most Bass are not under the bait but on the side and then come in for the attack..so the side body colors will be seen...most frogs have a white to creme colored belly...and the movement will also attract them... I use all black spooks at night and they see it and hear it.... Al

Smelly Jelly VS JJ Magic
I never used JJ's but plan to soon..but I can say I used Smelly jelly...and very pleased with it.. My son and I were fishing a local Charity tornament and the bite was hard...my son broke out the Jelly and treated jig skirts with it...it all turned around then..to the point we were culling...the final was we took 1st with 5 fish at 18.6 lbs..and were the only ones with a full well of fish... Now I hope JJ's will do the same ..since we have a order going in soon....I heard great reports for JJ's and its worth the try Al

Frogs with mono?
I agree 100%....yes mono will work..but the purpose of a frog is to fish in the salad..drag across the pads and weeds.....with braid the stuff works like a hedge trimmer cutting the pads...I tried braid with a flouro leader and I hooked into a hog..the flouro broke from the weeds horseing it in..it was 12 # test flouro also...now with the braid..I can get them in even with a head full of weeds... Put xps Flouro to the test this weekend
I use XPS flouro and its a great line for the money....I use it mostly for leaders on Braid...but my drop shots are all flouro..and I don't get any dig in...after a new fill on the reel when on the boat I stretch it out while going slow...then reel it in...seems to relieve any dig in....I do use a line conditioner also... little hint for line conditioner...I use food grade silicone...odorless and non toxic...but makes the line nice and supple and casts so nice...CRC makes it... goggle it...its by CRC....never leave home with out it..lol been using it for years now...A few guys at a tournament turned me on to it...works great on braid also... have not had any problems using it....none.... REEL GREASE and Reel Cleaner
in a pinch you can use Rem Oil..its a gun oil but works on reels also....I would not use acetone to clean bearings as some have a seal on them made of plastic..it will disolve the bearing seal... Lighter fluid is safer.....mineral spirits also is good.... if you use Hot sauce on Shimano's it will void the warranty ..they claim it has a micro abrasive in it used to polish the bearings...thats straight from Shimano... I have been using Mili-Tec oil and grease for my reels now...used by the military also..the have a reel oil and grease..go to the site and send for free samples....it works great... Wd-40 will gum in a reel...bad bad bad.... Al

Mojo bass rods.
We had a Mfg.Rep Expo here last month..I talked to the St. Croix rep as I was interested in some Mojo roads..... Now he told me they are very close to a AVID series..the blanks are made on a Avid mandrel..just that the guides are different... I bought 2 that day as it was 25% off St.Croix rods...plus you got a tackle binder bag...and a nice cooler...and hats...lol... now after fishing them I really like them....as good as my Avids and just under my tourney's...all in all I bought 5 Mojo's and glad I did... flw tour augertail worms
Wal Mart use to sell the FLW worms..I still have a few bags left...Good productive worm also...to bad they are hard to find now... Also Mann's made a worm called the Mannipulator..it is sorta like the Augertail but the tail had a hammered texture..all dimpled ..one of the best worms I have fished..I bought a bunch years ago when a sporting goods store went under...Still producing like they did years ago...great worm Al

worm colors
Last year I used Watermelon..Junebug and pumkin..rootbeer....I hit a lake which is super clear and none of these worms were working...I tried a bunch more colors..and the one that was the ticket was Cotton Candy...so I think you need a good variation of colors..as one color may produce..but another color may produce much better... PS....the cotton candy color worked well all summer after that experience...found a worm pourer and he poured me Senko style worms in Cotton candy and did well into the fall Al Al

Trout on wacky-rigged Senko!
Last week my son and I were fishing a local bass pond and did not know it was stocked with trout..Well the first cast landed me a 3.5 lb bass on a 4" senko Rootbeer/gold fleck wacky rigged with a 1/0 Kale hook..next cast i got a nice hit..when to the boat it was a 17" rainbow trout.... Then a few minutes later hooked another bass...the worm rode up the line..while retrieving the fish ..when close to the boat..I seen a Rainbow hitting the worm on the line ... Al
