  1. I tried many things for this then had to use gas, quickly wipe with a wet rag, then use goo-gone for final cleanup.
  2. I would replace with the same thing if you got 6 years good service. I have an everstart on it's 3rd year & I notice it is pooping out a little sooner this year.
  3. How big a deal is replacing lower unit seals on a 1973 85 Johnson? I am getting water in my gearcase. I changed the impeller once & thought it was easy, but I did not change the seals. Not really asking for directions, just an idea if this is a minor project or do I bring in a professional?
  4. On my last trip last year, I ran fuel with stabilizer through the motor & the motor seemed to lose some RPM's. The first trip with FRESH fuel, I cannont get it over 3700 RPM's. Usually run at 4400.
  5. You cannot go wrong with Ranger. My 1973 Bassmaster Classic is old & slow, but rock solid. I would look for one that's just a few years old if you cannot afford new.
